An additional thought about Final Fantasy XIII-2's soundtrack. It seriously suffers from jukebox-itis. Why write an "aggressive mix" for each of the locations' themes if it's only going to play for a couple of seconds before you switch to the standard battle track? They needed to take a cue from Kingdom Hearts here and have each area with its unique battle theme. The "aggressive mix" idea seems like wasted effort for all that it's used, really.

Also, forgot to mention this in my last post, but one thing that I truly appreciated in this game is that the lyrics of the vocalized songs are actually relevant to the game. Even when they're a little hokey ("Worlds Collide" comes to mind), at least they pertain to what you're actually doing. I've gotten used to the Japan-ism of having totally fucking non-sensical lyrics, and so having this took me aback slightly, but in a good way.

Um, what else? I showed my brother Bayonetta. That was fun. He spared no effort in telling me how Not. Sexy. At. All. Bayonetta is. He did enjoy watching it, though. He also enjoyed watching me fail repeatedly at quicktime events. Fucking quicktimes. Only in that game, seriously.

Best new fighter I've played this year next to Skullgirls. Luv the Persona and BlazBlue franchises very much. Can't wait for BlazBlue 3: Chronophantasma.

Persona 4 Arena

The Main Menu music...glorious. Just sitting here, listening to it.

Got sucked into minecraft again... (falling off a cliff) nooooooooooooooooo.

I'm overwhelmed by all that's new to me, I guess it's been a while, multiplayer servers have made leaps and bounds since I last played.

Finally finished everything that I care to finish in Final Fantasy XIII-2. In this case, that means getting all of the Fragments. So pretty much, I busted my ass and sacrificed snippets of my sanity and

Spoiler :
all I got was this lousy extra scene of Caius. Thanks for the "fuck you," Square.

Final thought on the soundtrack: this game has the worst vocal theme ever in an FF. I don't know if the Japanese song is any better, but gee golly whiz did North America ever mess that one up. I guess we had to balance that out somehow, since the rest of the OST was so good.

Anyway, I'm not sure that I would play this one again, given that there's just so much repetition in locations, but I did enjoy it and found it more fun than frustrating, unlike its predecessor.

Spoiler :
But really, they couldn't at least put a couple of fights in the Coliseum? The whole thing had to be useless without DLC? They shouldn't have even bothered putting it in the game - just make the whole location an extra download. And screw Serendipity, I wouldn't pay money for any extra content in that place.

Here's looking forward to the next game, terrible story and all.

Now back to my regularly scheduled Fatal Frame 2 speedrun.

Played Portal 2 finally. short but humorous.

Still playing DayZ from time to time but would be more enjoyable if more people played... *cough*George*cough*

You have no idea how much I want to ;__; Haven't played DayZ for over a month now, and that was basically the last game I actively played.

But at the moment I am completely screwed with work. I'm hoping that later this weekend I'll finally get it out of the way :<

make sure you play the Lightning DLC requiem goddess. It expands on the general ending and leads into FFXIII-3. If you do decide to get it, try to beat Caius fast so that he will go into chaos bahamut mode which you need to beat to see the epilogue ending. I admit I couldn't beat Bahamut and so just youtubed it >_> it's really fun using Lightning for all these new skills and non-main game paradigms.

also normally i would say I hate you guys for having Persona 4 Arena but since Zen United is releasing our PAL copy I'm expecting a really kick arse collector's edition =) I suppose Blazblue Extend and Arcana Hearts 3 is enough in the meantime.

Been playing a lot of Halo Reach with my youngest sister before she moves to New York for college. We've been playing since the first Halo and have spent many, many, many hours with the multiplayer in 2 and 3. I'll be sad that she won't be here when I get Halo 4, but we can play over the holidays.

I surprisingly don't hate Final Fantasy XIII-2, but it's nowhere as good as the original. I'm just playing it to get to the end.

I'm pretty interested in that Sleeping Dogs game. I'll probably put it on my gamefly queue soon.
