I have to deal with anxiety everyday. Normally what I do is mental exercises, avoiding to think in what makes me feel ansious

I don't get panic attacks very often but I deal with anxiety of varying levels on a daily basis. Used to be a lot worse when I was younger but medication helped me to get over the hump and helped me find ways of controlling it.

Word to that, bro. Mostly that second line, but recently I've been getting some mini-anxiety attacks when I let my brain overwhelm itself thinking about trying to be more social. It's usually not too bad, but I gotta be careful not to let it happen when I'm driving. Muscle spasms are dangerous when you're holding a steering wheel.

I've had to deal with them on several occasions. Once put on meds for them (as well as OCD), but I quit them because they made me gain a ton of weight and made me tired all day. I remember in high school I'd have a panic attack nearly every day at least once because I couldn't handle being stuck in the classroom.

I used to have catastrophic panic and/or anxiety attacks in high school: hyperventilation, paralysis, shrinking vision, paraesthesia/numbness, loss of motor control in my face...yeah. Thankfully they had pretty specific triggers and therefore didn't occur too often (perhaps once every few months), but there was more than one time the school ended up calling paramedics. Was on Paxil for a year (all of 2002) as a result of what was probably the worst one. Sent to therapists a few different times over the four years I was there, too.

After graduating, I've only had one, and that was before getting my wisdom teeth out. Based on that, the oral surgeon's office said it'd be okay for me to take a diazepam before the surgery - I couldn't walk after taking just half of one.

Signing up for Facebook almost threw me into one, but it didn't *quite* get to that level.

Nice video. There were a few things about her story I could relate to... The big thing she touched on, at least for me, is that you have to recognize it as a problem but understand that it can be controlled. I think everyone is different so there's no secret cure. What helped me was a mixture of light medication and self taught rituals and actions. As I touched on before, I was on medication for a short time which lowered my level of anxiety. This allowed me to talk my self through situations more easily and gave me the confidence to be able to work through it in the future. I eventually stopped taking the medication (perhaps a bit prematurely) but the things I learned to work me through my anxiety have helped me ever since.

I'm a relatively private person and don't like to talk about my "problems" to people... or anything really honestly. I've always tried to hide it from family and friends. I don't really know how many of my friends really know to what extent my anxiety reaches. I'm pretty sure most of my coworkers don't know I suffer from anxiety. I do have a close friend I've known since middle school whom I've talked to from time to time about it. It's nice to get an outside perspective. He's recognized how much I've changed since I've been able to tackle my anxiety. Having that conversation with him helped me better understand how far I've come. Thinking back on how much it affected me, I feel like I've made leaps and bounds to get to where I am now. I'm almost a different person. Even though I've changed, I still understand what I was feeling at the time was real. And I think that's important as well because knowing it was real and knowing that I was able to overcome it is a great motivator and tool to get through any anxiety I feel in the future.

Xanax has helped me immensely but I have such a serious disorder that I'm gonna be on this shit for the rest of my life, and I've explored all other avenues for the most part. It's the only thing that works for me. I'm down to talk privately with any of you about these things and listen to your experiences with it privately, too. If anybody feels like they'd like to share more thoroughly.
