Pretty much this. I think it'll screen better as a single movie on whatever special edition nth iteration of the BluRay they put it out like that on.

Room of requirement scene:
Spoiler :
Okay so in the novel, Crabbe casts Fiendfyre and destroys himself and Rowena Ravenclaw's lost diadem. In real life, Crabbe's actor was fulfilling his sentence for a drug charge and could not film. Instead of re-casting his character, his character's actions are done by Goyle, and in an effort to keep Malfoy having two sidekicks, Blaise Zabini takes Goyle's old spot. This would have been fine if only the had cared to mention Blaise by name. He is my favorite Slytherin (tied with Pansy Parkinson, more on her later) and he deserved more than that. The only time his name is ever mentioned in the movies is in HBP on the way to Hogwarts for like 2 seconds. Additionally, in the film the Fiendfyre curse does consume Goyle, however it does not destroy the Horcrux. For some unknown reason, production felt it necessary for Harry to destroy it with a Basilisk fang. This was a tragedy. The fact that Harry actually only ever destroys one Horcrux is such a big deal (to me anyway). It shows just how much Harry could not have done anything by himself, let alone defeat Voldy. I don't understand why that had to be changed.

Spoiler :
yeah, I completely agree. I felt that the fact that no two horcruxes were destroyed by the same person was a significant part that shouldn't have been changed. Even the 8th horcrux (Harry) was destroyed by Voldemort.

Now, it's been a while since I've read the books, however I'm fairly certain Molly killed Bella with a Killing Curse. Did that really need to be changed?

Spoiler :
I liked that part. Molly didn't just kill Bellatrix. She denigrated that bitch.

Snape's flashback completely made the entire movie for me. His performance was amazing and it perfectly pulled off the 180 degree change from the villainous character to the heroic one.

I was shocked when I saw this part  It would have been way better if they didn't change it.

I never got into the HP books. I didn't get into the HP fandom until way later, after the first film had come out. Then I happened to catch it on my uni's campus channel, playing in the background while I was working on video for class. I found myself compelled to stop working and actually watch the movie. I was really kinda blown away by how good it was, and how good the acting was. I found myself thinking I would pick up the books sometime and give them a read. However, as I was really busy with reading a lot of other stuff for school, I never did. I did keep up with the movies though, and enjoyed all of them to some extent or another, and felt like this was a well done ending to a well done series of films. It's one of those rare cases where something can be so long running and remain well done.

That being said, since I haven't read the books, I don't understand some of the nerdrage my compatriots experienced with say the 3rd or 4th film I think it was, whenever it was they changed directors or something like that. I still felt there was solid storytelling, solid acting, and solid VFX work throughout all the films. Now I'm kinda sad that they're over and done with.

Guess it's time to finally read the books. I know, I know, shame on me for not reading them sooner, shame on me for not reading them then watching the movies, my experience is now ruined. I guess I was just a little too indifferent to HP when it first hit the shelves, mainly because when people hype the hell out of things, I generally find them overrated. Not so in this case.

@ZS it's the standard book -> movie complaint about not preserving the minutia because the goal is to make an entertaining movie. When you pad your writing with minor character interactions to develop characters, it will and does get cut for screen, even if some of them were good or important to you as a reader.
