Windows Update triggered a hard drive failure in my boot drive.

Luckily I didn't keep much important stuff on the boot drive and google chrome still remembered my bookmarks. However, I'm NOT looking forward to reinstalling EVERYTHING again, especially when I'm tired from work.

Financial troubles. I had to lend my brother $500 dollars today to fix his truck. My total finances is now valued at $30 after I wrote out checks for my bills and loans for this month. >_>

But I had to do it. If I didn't, he couldn't keep his summer job working for a big farming company, and would essentially lose his job and then not have any money to pay rent/bills/utilities. Poor kid JUST moved out after graduating, and had JUST gotten his first job, only to have this shit fall on his lap right away.

We do have a deal though. He's paying me back $25 a week until the thing is paid off. I really do trust that he'll do it [he's always paid me back in FULL whatever he borrows, and he's done these kind of deals before with values up to $200, but $500 is a totally different story, especially when the kid's got bills]. Plus, I'd trust the guy with my life. XD

But now I have to go to work on $30 in gas until Friday, and pretty much means I'm skipping lunch for a week. Not gonna hurt me though. XD

Starting tomorrow, my hours are going to be shortened for a unspecified period of time at work. I would like to say that's a good thing, but money's getting pretty tight as it is.

Seriously.... today has been not fun. Not because works been way too busy and we're way understaffed... it's my damn allergies. Seriously. I took my medication but seems I just can't get away from it. I sound horrible, can't breath, nose wont stop running, and there's nothing I can do to get away from it.

I've been trying to get in to see an allergist for weeks now. But every time I call they are either closed or too busy to take my call. Seriously? Wish I could only work 3 hours a day 2 days a week...

Been feeling like I'm not getting enough rest, stressed at work, and dehydrated. I can tell when my face breaks out.

I try to stay up till midnight on work days because if I go to bed early, I'll be back at work again too fast.

Well, I did finally hear back from her... After almost a month...

Not only did she decide to fly off the handle and try to tear into me like the whole situation is MY fault, but her angry flailing about still COMPLETELY missed the point of why I had an issue to begin with. And she decides my birthday is the best day to do this (which I find absolutely hillarious, btw). So my initial assessment was correct. Time to cut her loose, because I don't need people like that in my life. I don't wish her any ill, but I also don't care to ever speak to her again.

The thing is, all of this could have been avoided had she simply not lied to me in the first place. But she made her bed, so to speak. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, and don't let the door hit you in the ass on our way out.

The registration system that I designed for my local con last year (which did a pretty bang-up job if I do say so myself) got deleted from the server. I poured myself over it for the better part of 2 weeks (and then continued to add features, mainly administrative, to it for the next 2-3 months)

Good news is I still have it on one of my externals.
Still gotta recreate the file structure on the server and change the front-facing bits to the site's new layout though...

Barnes and Noble delayed and threatened to cancel a pre-order of mine for K-ON! Blu-ray Vol.2 that I placed back in April. It was released on Tuesday last week; it's now not expected to ship until July 5th. If it was Amazon or Right Stuf, I'd likely already be awaiting delivery.

They did this with Vol.1 also, which I placed at the same time as Vol.2. This is what I get for placing an order with them just to get 10% back in accrued points with Chase (except a previous order for my mom went fine). This just further cements my resolve never to order from BN.com again. If I can't find it in their brick-and-mortar store, I'm going to Borders (the one a couple miles from my house is one of the ones that are staying open) or Amazon.

This also means that the artbook I ordered from JBOX last Tuesday might get here before that Blu-ray even ships. Or it could be like what happened with Vol.1 and get here the same day as a separate package I'm expecting...funny enough, that was also a Touhou-themed artbook. Sure, that would be a nice surprise, but it doesn't change the fact that I shouldn't have to deal with delays or potential order cancellation, all while I'm sure that other stores were releasing it on schedule.

That sucks! I would definately stop giving them your business. Also, why didn't you wait for the complete series to be released and get ita ll at once?
