I agree. You did the right thing. I know it sucks to be out $1000 but it sounded like even back then you weren't sure you ever see that money again. Good for you for putting your foot down. You'd be out a lot more than $1000.

I dropped the bowl of ramen I just finished cooking on the floor. :(

I have $350 in my account. My mother has $0. Not much food in the house. Still desperately hoping that one of the jobs I applied to hires me.

On a lesser note, but still an annoying thorn in my side, our central air is broken. This heat has been sapping me of my energy. z_z

I love how a certain someone at work blows an incredibly minor problem into huge unnecessary proportions. Sadly, anything I would retort with would add more fuel to the fire and have me out the door.

Seriously. Nobody gives a shit, you hag.

Been gettin' beat for money all month, friends taking advantage, mental state deteriorating. Shit is just going more and more downhill, anxiety and mental issues prevent me from working, not that there's anything out there, nobody's hiring. 100% stuck and alone. Fuck this shit.

True enough, but I'm not the type of person who can easily cut people off. I'm too nice for my own fucking good, believe it or not.

Not an option with the amount of money I have to work with per month.

the bitch left me with a 330$ cable bill when she moved out, apparently she'd stopped paying the bill a couple months ago without saying anything. cable company called today, i need to make a payment on that by the middle of next week.

Roommates don't have rent, and won't until at least thursday.

was supposed to get a boat load of things done today, didn't get ANY done because of random bullshit.

got a call from work to do a tow job, couldn't though, battery on the truck was dead because of faulty wiring, so i didn't make ANY money today, even though i was second up on the job list.

had random neighbours threatening to kick my ass this afternoon because of my roommate, who they have a problem with.

then i get a call from my new employer asking what's going on, because said neighbours called them to say that the truck sitting in front of the house was an ill representation of the company because of said roommate living there, and if it wasn't moved they'd wreck it :|

it took me YEARS to get things calmed down around here(used to be big trouble constantly, theft, property damage, etc), and now it could start all over again? i am in the middle of an anxiety attack, i can barely think straight, FOR FUCK SAKES CAN I JUST NOT GET A GODDAMN BREAK?!

I get to drive 350 miles back to Milwaukee for another job interview, and I'm not as confident in my bid for the position as I'd like to be. I'm still a broke grad student, and I can't afford to make the trip many more times. Now, usually when I say I'm broke that means I just don't have a source of income...but if I don't get a job by the end of this summer I'll be pretty much bankrupt. I have a place down in Milwaukee with some friends that I have to pay rent on...but I moved back home for the summer because I couldn't pay rent for the summer and eat. I've been looking for a job for the past year with little luck so far.

The other awesome thing about all this is that my car is on the way out and in no condition to make the trip, so I have to do some car shuffling between my parents (divorced but get along). It's great that I can do this, but it makes me feel bad to impose. I still have my first car after 8 years driving it, and when I came back after this school year my battery was dead. After that, my brakes were catching something fierce. My brakes have been rusting together for the past year or two (had to take a sledge to the drum last year so I could actually get the thing out of the garage, this year I just needed to hit the gas a bit to free the drum), but this time it was more like some rust had broken loose from the inner wall of the drum. I'd know for sure, but the drum is rusted to the rear axle or something...so I can't take the drum off (google says to heat the drum with a torch and smack it some more). So I pretty much have to buy new brake drums, shoes and associated hardware (can't imagine any of that has fared any better than the drums) with the little money I have left. To top the brake situation off, no specs or replacement part numbers for the brakes are given in my car's manual (and those specs don't seem to exist online) and pretty much each site I visited gave me the option for 7" shoes or 8" shoes (and drums) for my car. I'm hoping the 7" stuff will fit.

If nothing else, I shouldn't have to replace anything else on my car before I can get a new one.

Not really related to all of that, but still something very meh worthy. I've talked to 6 of 17 professors in my department for ideas/work for my Master's thesis and am still looking for a project. I've been getting small pieces of the puzzle with each professor I've talked to. The most recent piece I've gotten was that it'll be hard to find a professor doing research in an area that will apply to industry (I'm not staying in academia). It's too late for me to switch to the non-thesis option, so I'd have to pretty much do my thesis on something and hope it has some relevance to industry or try to convince employers that some part of my thesis is relevant. At this point I'm not really sure if it'd be better to stop pursuing my MS degree or finish the 6 credits of coursework and (at least) 3 credits of thesis with a project that probably won't be relevant in my desired sub-fields (also, I don't know how long to expect the research and my thesis will take.)
