Lately I've been going out and doing a jogging program with Copycat, we did the fifth jogging excursion this morning and I'm having a tough time. I mean, I'm getting better endurance-wise, I'm seeing improvement in leaps and bounds. No more gasping/wheezing and my heartbeat has settled down, etc. I've even been adding extra time/distance! I feel like I can do more and I
want to do more. It's not a chore, I actually look forward to the next time I'm going to go out!
However, my knees (and consequently, my calves) are a different story. I have pre-existing knee problems that aren't agreeing with my new exercise program. While out, I just push past how much they hurt, but when I got home the last two times, they hurt so much I was completely immobilized. Elevation, ice, and a nap makes it go away within a few hours, but still. I even gave it three days rest between the last time and today and it didn't help. I already plan on dialing it back a bit, but it's just really disheartening when I'm trying to make a change for the better and my body isn't cooperating.
