You'd think the typical reaction would be of surprise and shock and perhaps a bit of slapping your shoulder.

But to have them call you on the phone, yell at you, call you insane, make you walk over to their house in the rain to grab it from them, give you glares of death, only to find out after the return trip home (in the rain) that they didn't even bother to at least open the box...

Fuck, why do I even try to be nice?

Seriously, who does that :/

That just strikes me as totally inappropriate as a response. Even unwanted gifts are something people should refuse with gratitude. I would not really want to have much to do with someone who reacts like that.

^ Agreed. That's just crazy.

My vent for today, or rather tomorrow: I just got sick and tomorrow is the deadline for a long and tedious demographics essay that I haven't even started yet :?

I got almost no sleep today and my stomach is killing me due to the way it's thrown off my eating schedule. All because I had to pull an all-nighter for work. As if daylight savings didn't suck enough :(

Holy shit, I've never felt so terrible so quickly.

I had a horrible headache earlier from stress but now my chest is burning and my stomach is doing backflips. I would pay a million dollars right now to go home and not move.

Pleeease for the love of all that is holy, let Matt answer his work phone and be able to take me home ;______;

Had a disheartening meeting today about the city budget. Worst case scenario, my position will be cut along with the other temp staff and one full time GIS staff. The whole thing is messed up. My department is merged with the whole admin services (HR, finance, city managers office...) and the majority of those departments wont cut anything/anyone. They have more power to do so which leaves us with the burden of coming up with things to cut -_- And if the GIS position gets cut, Public works gets screw on that front but the whole city gets screwed because the help desk will basically be gone with little room for other staff to fill in the gap. The people calling the shots here don't understand the real cost of cutting our staff, they just want to see cuts.

Oh well. The worst case situation looks bad enough that it wont happen, but it all depends on what the city council wants to do. I guess i'm also looking for other work anyway so if i do get cut, I'll probably find another job before then.

I can't decide whether I want to stay in Cornwall and finish my Game Development course, or return to Kingston and take a more generic Software Engineering course... I don't really want to do game development anymore, except as a hobby, I'd really like to do some other kind of software development, I've found I'm better at that. I've already done a year of the course, however, and I've made some friends and really like the teachers... On the other hand, with less focus on games in another course and three years vs two, I'll have a better understanding of more generic development, and it'll look better for a regular job on a resume than game development will, despite the fact that we're covering basically the same as the other course, just with a focus on games and less java, and without the work placement at the end. It'd be cheaper for me to live in Kingston for the generic software course, as I can live with my parents, but I feel like I wouldn't have the same independance, despite what my parents say... I want to see if I can pay rent in order to not have to do silly chores to live with them. I'd also get to see my girlfriend more regularily... I really don't know what to do. I've started this course, but the other is more in-depth, and cheaper for living, though I'd be leaving some good friends behind and I'm sure there wouldn't be close to as many people interested in gaming in the other course. No more sitting around between classes playing monster hunter with seven other people... Argh, sorry for the wall of text, I just had to type it out and get these things straight in my mind... It's a tough decision and will undoubtably affect the rest of my life, I don't know what the fuck to do. :<

EDIT: Also, I'd probably have constant vehicle access in Kingston, and more spending money since I'd eat meals with my parents and wouldn't have to pay $350/mo for rent... Everything says I should go home next year, but I don't want to drop this course after getting halfway through, and I like the people and independance...

Shit atleast you guys get to enjoy the good weather right now when it does happen. This sprained ankle wont let me do anything but limp around. Can't play basketball, football, jog, man I can't even drive my motorcycle cause I don't want to potentially put 400lbs of pressure on it having to recover from a bad turn or something. Shitsux, was told sprained ankles can take longer to heal than fractured ones or whatever, it varies on how bad the sprain is and your own body's ability to heal. This is my first time every spraining. I'm 2 weaks in and it still swells whenever I start walking on it after waking up and the bruising is still there but slowly going away. I guess I should just be thankful I can limp around on it and that it wasn't more serious.

If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

I'm always on the edges of my creativity and it's just exhausting work :amv:

/just started his Madoka amv and already wants to do something else than editing.
