@Otohiko I don't care.... the post was about STEREOTYPES you know? Korea is a 'scirmish' that escapes most every American's mind... since we lost it and all :/

I just had to correct this. Korea was about the Containment Doctrine. We contained. Technically, Korea was a strategic "win" because we met the goal we said we were out to obtain.

Realistically, it's caused us all sorts of issues as North Korea has been able to affect global politics for decades.

1812 was, in part, an attempt by British forces to recapture the colonies. They failed. The United States maintained its independence. So yes, from our perspective, it was a "win"

No. We lost in Vietnam, and that is easily proven by the lack of existence of a democratic "South Vietnam" today. If he had managed successful containment there as we did in Korea, we'd be able to call it, technically, a "win." Vietnam, however, turned out not to be the domino we thought it would be, and in fact, isn't really much of an issue. Plenty of Americans even go and visit. The value of a South Vietnam, if it had existed, is questionable at best.

Yea, we actually have a pretty good relationship with Vietnam now, all things considered.
