AMV Stalkers - A.K.A. Interesting Times with Cornwiggle

Postby silverknight2015 » Fri Dec 31, 2010 8:43 pm

Cornwiggle, aka Beast Spear, aka The Scourge of animemusicvideos.org

Judging by all the interesting chatter that has been going around about this guy on the forums, he seems to be a pretty infamous guy.

Well, I've become the target of his abuse recently and judging by his consistent use of cuss words, foul language and general insults he's starting to come across as a less-than-friendly kind of guy.

Everyone, BEWARE, for his special interest lies in the Anime SAMURAI 7 and the Movie, SEVEN SAMURAI. If you make an AMV based on that anime, be prepared to suffer his wrath as I have.

I made a Samurai 7 AMV a few years back, and it caught his attention. He's been spamming my animemusicvideos.org profile account ever since with Threats, Insults, Cuss words, etc. saying:

- I'm a horrible AMV Editor

- I don't know how to edit Samurai 7 into a proper AMV

- how dare I taint such an incredible anime with my SH*&#TY editing, etc. etc.

His insults keep going and going and going.

He's been spamming my profile inbox with over a hundred messages with insults and threats, and to this day, he still keeps doing it through is "Beast Spear" account.

Additionally, he systematically goes through all my AMV's, marking each one with a single star and saying in the comments that I am a terrible editor.

Here are some recent comments he posted about some AMV's I uploaded to the ORG:

My Blackrock Shooter Trailer AMV: " Fucking 1'd. You fail as an editor, now watch my two videos, shitface."

My Goddesses and Demons AMV: "This was only step 1... keep ignoring me, you'll get 1000x worse. Keep that in mind, or just watch my two videos... no, better yet, admit that you just fucking lied and maybe I'll stop. Just maybe, you worthless shitty editor"

My Be an Outlaw! AMV : "Do you HONESTLY think this will ever stop until you live up to it? I have your email address and I have accounts on Youtube. This will never stop until you promise me. I tried to work it out with you and like a little RETARD, you lie. Guess what? I'm gong to make your internet experience a fucking living hell from now on."

Is there a way to curb this kind of user abuse? I've been a member of Animemusicvideos.org for over 6 years and like most of us, we all come to this website to express our creativity and generally have a pleasant time. It's people like Cornwiggle/Beast Spear that contradicts and insults our reasons for coming to the ORG.

I vote to put a stop to people who are ignorant of the fact that AMV's are just a fun and pleasant hobby, and not worth abusing people over.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Ways to Block this guy? ^_^;;

Who do I send the message to?

I don't respond to bullying or abuse. As long as he continues to act childish and disrespectful, I see no reason to follow his demands.

Even so, most of us never Require other people to watch our AMV's, nor demand that they do.

No matter how much work I put into my AMV's, I walk away from my computer with the satisfaction of knowing that I made something, and it was FUN; and I don't care if people watch it or completely ignore it.

I made it. I'll post it on the ORG, I'll post it on Youtube. If people watch it and comment on it, Great! If they don't, if they don't even acknowledge the AMV's existance, that's fine too. I'll accept the fact that it wasn't their cup of tea, or that they don't care to watch it.

Sometimes I'll watch someone's AMV and I'll post a detailed opinion about it. But in no way, will I EVER require them to return the favor and demand that they watch my videos.

For most of us, this is a hobby. Whether somebody watches our videos or not, it's not worth losing sleep over.

doki can handle it for you, at least here on a-m-v.org. Sadly you'll have to find another way to deal with him elsewhere.

Luckily I put him in his place by standing up to him and he's the type of troll who'll still bug you if he's ignored.

Unlike Sammy who was the fun troll, Corn is the troll troll. He has nothing better to do and he's pretty fucking sad. Plus I'm sure he's reading all of this now, plotting his next move...

LOL, thanks guys. I've emailed Cornwiggle, enlightening him as to any "issues" he and I share. Hopefully that'll put an end to things.

He's perma-banned from posting on the forums, but that doesn't stop him from harassing members. AFAIK he possesses some sock puppet accounts as well, so to some extent I wonder whether trying to root him out completely would only make him more active...

Regardless, try to ignore him. A troll is a troll is a troll. The more attention you pay to him, the... oh, you know.
On the other hand I don't want to dismiss the offense caused by this guy; I know other members have complained over the last few months and I'll talk to the other mods and see if something can be done. Sadly the best remedy for persistent trolls is still the cold shoulder rather than the ban hammer, in my experience.
