Just finished Journey about an hour ago.
I am at a loss for words as to describe the experience I just had, I was on the verge of tears towards the end and was just blown away and wowed by the entirety of it. And the sense of seeing someone off in the distance to ride the wind with, brought me more joy than I was expecting.

Honestly...it felt like I was playing Shadow of the Colossus again for the first time.

Beat ME3 this morning. I'm conflicted about the ending. Part of me is OK with it but part of me is not.

Still trying to come to terms with it myself. Then again, my headcanon can make a lot of stories out of it.

Here are my thoughts on the ME3 ending:
Spoiler :
I think the ending(s) is ok if you look at it from a specific point of view. Considering the after credits scene of the adult telling the boy the story, the series is just that, a story. And in the big picture, it's all just one big story being told to us by Bioware. It's kind of the Inception methodology where Nolan compared movies to dreams. I wouldn't go as far to say it's exactly the same but I think if you look at it from that point of view, it makes a bit of sense. I think the line the boy said about hearing more about "The Shepard" is the key. Any good story like this is going to be epic and the end is going to equally epic. Would Beowolf be less epic if we had all the extra after story stuff people wanted from it? I don't think so but even if it did, I think most people would skip those parts or not tell it. After so long, that part of the story gets left out. When you think about the game as the story of "The Shepard" being told by someone, you don't really need to know about everything that happened afterwards. You tell the story of the hero who united the galaxy, the end.

That said, it's sort of a cop-out. The endings are rather generic and cliche. Having us play through 3 games and then at the end it's just a story being told to a child is annoying. I wanted Shepard to retire to a beach house and make babies. Tell his story to his children... Live happily ever after and all that shit or live to fight another day. I haven't watched all the endings yet but reading up on them, it sounds like they are all relatively the same (as far as content is concerned that is), with only slight changes. I'll use the ending I chose for reference though:

I picked the Synthetics/Organics living in harmony (the middle option). Basically all life, synthetic or organic now share the same DNA structure... Basically, they are all the same now. Despite the out of no where space magic thing, i'm ok with that, what ever. But, the clip they showed later annoyed me. I used Liara and Ashely in my party. When the Reaper pretty much killed me and my team during that run to the pillar, you would think Liara and Ashely would be dead or injured also. There was no mention of them staying back. So, then, why the hell is Ashely getting off of the ship with Joker/EDI on some random planet after the Mass Relays were destroyed? When did Joker fly the ship down and save them? Why isn't she half dead? Doesn't make any sense. There's no continuity to it.

Also The whole synthetic vs organic thing came a little out of nowhere there at the end. From what I understood, the reapers were created to bring order to the galaxy. Eventually species would go to war and it would just be a never ending chaos (much like how wars on earth are for us, there's always a war). So the reapers would destroy everything every 50,000 years so that the species of the galaxy doesn't destroy themselves. It's self preservation of the galaxy. So then at the very end there, they say its actually about synthetics being created by the organics and going to war... Doesn't make sense to me.

All that being said, there's another thing... After Shepard starts the Crucible and Hackett says that nothing is happening, Shepard tries to get to the console but then fails and blacks out/dies... One could argue everything after that point never happened and just a figment of Shepard's mind. If Bioware/EA ever decide to redo the ending (there's a lot of angry people) then I think using this as a way to retcon the current endings would be the best method. Having to retcon the ending though is pretty lame though. If this had been a singular game and not the of a series, I don't think I'd mind. The newest Deus Ex did the same thign and I was ok with it but I think the Mass Effect series deserved a better end.
Kinda long, but there are my thoughts so far.
