In the Japaneses version we had here, everything was unlockable by playing enough straight battles in addition to any other way to unlock them.

Wii friend code: 1621 3642 6064 6409
My SSBB Friend Code: 2363-5348-6700

I've just been playing through the adventure mode so far, and I like what I've seen.
One thing that has become painfully obvious though, is that I NEED to buy a gamecube controller.
I've spent a lot of time messing with the various control options, and none of them feel quite right. I was rather surprised by the wiimote-only option, as it plays quite well. The default classic controller settings sucked, but I got a nice scheme worked out after switching around some buttons. Problem is, I hate the placement of the stick on the classic controller. It makes it difficult to accurately press in the direction you want, so I often end up angling down or up by accident. If they had just put the damn stick where the D-pad is, everything would be peachy-keen.

I just wish nintendo would make a damn new wavebird for the wii.

Perhaps i should be playing with the wiimote only then ...
I agree with you %100 on the classic controller ... but on the other hand i loathe the GC controller.

maybe i can use my PS2 controller ... I'll see how that works after I try out the Wiimote only option...

it also may be the fact I have no idea whatsoever how to play this game right.

I found that turning tap up to jump off helps a bit. Problem is, I use up to jump SOMETIMES, like when I am trying to multijuggle someone with pit or metaknight.

I am on the last part of story mode. Once I nab Sonic, I'll unlock the rest.

Oh yeah, also, if you have a weak network or internet connection, lag is super annoying. My friend Chris is in seattle, plus he was on a wireless connection with mid to low signal strength. The lag got a little hard to tolerate.

Jigglypuff, Fox, and Toon Link unlocks:

Jigglypuff: Beat story mode, then go back in and play the Swamp level, there will be a fight against Jigglypuff at the end. Note that this fight is very hard no matter what difficulty you set. You must win.
OR
Finish story mode, then beat Event Match 2. (I think it's 2, anyway) There will be a fight against Jigglypuff at the end. Note that this fight is very hard no matter what difficulty you set. You must win.
OR
Finish 350 matches.

Wolf: Beat story mode, then go back in and play the Ruins level, there will be a fight against Wolf at the end. Note that this fight is very hard no matter what difficulty you set. You must win.
OR
Finish story mode, then beat Boss Mode with Fox. There will be a fight against Wolf at the end. Note that this fight is very hard no matter what difficulty you set. You must win.
OR
Finish 450 matches.

Toon Link: Beat story mode, then go back in and play the Forest level, there will be a fight against Toon Link at the end. Note that this fight is very hard no matter what difficulty you set. You must win.
OR
Finish story mode, then beat Classic Mode with Link. There will be a fight against Toon Link at the end. Note that this fight is very hard no matter what difficulty you set. You must win.
OR
Finish 400 matches.

So there you have it. Every other character is a snap, just play through story mode. The only tricky one if Ganondorf, you need Link and Zelda trophies or he won't join you.
