I think if it was a mandatory requirement to watch every video then there would be a lot less entries cause there are people out there who wont watch certain things. Would a reasonable solution be to opt out of judging but still be allowed to submit?

If you can't watch everything that comes your way then don't fucking enter :\

But like others have touched on... You expect people to give you the couresty of watch and judging your video, but won't even return the favor? yah, there is some bullshit godix pulls and stuff, and I would just rate it as a 0, but fucking grow a pair and watch a video, It's really not difficult, and if it offends you then enter expo.

Expo isn't judged the same way. A lot of people, including myself like entering because of the blind nature of the contest. no rule that says you have to watch every video and if you can't do that, then you can't enter. A lot of people would like the contest to only be new, never before released videos also, but there's no rule against it. People expect it, but it doesn't happen cause it's not a requirement.

whatever, It just makes no fucking sense to me that you would enter this contest and then not go through with the written and maybe even unwritten rules. actually, fuck rules. It's fucking common courtesy.

I think that's more because the entries are supposed to be blind and it's hard to do that when someone can easily look the entry up on the org.

I disagree, I've never entered this contest feeling like I should have to watch every video, that's just me. Actually, in fact I didn't even watch any of the videos last year. Not because I didn't want to but because I just didn't have the time. On the other hand, I've always entered a never before released video, cause that's how I believe it should be (granted, I did release a video before jugding was over, only because I thought it had no chance). But you don't see me bitching at Godix cause he entered a video he released recently? It's not common courtesy, it's unreasonable expectations.

You could say the same thing about what we are discussing now: because you signed a waver saying you're over 18 years old, you have to watch the 18+ videos.

asking someone to do something isn't requiring them to do it.

It doesn't bother me as long as you DEFINITELY do not vote in that category. As Kholaras said, there are enough people that don't nominate or vote, so I'm happy with people even just voting in categories that they had watched and skipping the others. (which is better than nominating or voting for videos you didn't watch....or not nominating or voting at all -_-)

Ultimately, I don't think this discussion will really lead to a solution. Many of us do watch all of the videos and find it important to do so, but not everyone operates that way, and again, as Kholaras said, there's not really any way to enforce it. So we can go around in circles, or we can get back to actually talking about the videos (That is, for those of us who've watched them. :x). Poor Sanya's reviews already got a bit swallowed up.

Guys, lets not derail a subject that is actually worth discussing by turning it into a flame war.

Unless Kolaras comes out here and says, "You HAVE to watch every video" then I'm trying to argue that its an unreasonable expectation you guys are putting on those who enter the contest. When I signed that waver last year I was fully expected to be able to sit down and watch the videos but it never happened (i also didn't judge IIRC).
