Anime Boston 2010 Rules are up! Now in Hi-Def!

Postby adferraro » Wed Jan 13, 2010 11:59 pm

That's right, the rules are up here: www.animeboston.com/events/amv_rules/

And this year we are kicking up an already awesome contest up a notch and planning for Hi-Definition!

So if you've ever wanted to make that Hi-Def video of your dreams, Time to dust off those Blu-rays and wow us all!

I look forward to seeing what you guys will come up with!

P.S. Standard videos are fine and dandy as well. Don't think you have to submit in Hi- Definition.

The submission form is now up as well. It can be found linked from the rules page at:

http://www.animeboston.com/events/amv_rules/

It's been web based to streamline submission procedures.

I can't believe I just now noticed this, but:

The Rules wrote:Audio should be encoded at 48000 Khz.

I do hope you meant 48000 Hz (= 48 KHz).

Yeah, I encoded my video's audio at 48000 Khz. I'm still waiting for the PC to re-appear.

More importantly, where's the HD love for one of the few cons to even attempt an HD AMV screening?

Well...I have sort of a weird question.
I would like to submit two of my videos...one however is older and has won two previous awards from last year (Tekkoshocon and NDK), but it was made later than April 8th 2008 so it technically would be alright. I regretted not submitting it last year to Boston, as it is my favorite video I have made. So I was wondering if it would go against the "unwritten convention etiquette" to submit it this year? I had quite a few harsh comments about my quality for Boston last year (been working on it) and I would rather not have anyone flaming me for doing something that might be upsetting to people.

Wow. That's been in there forever. Good Job picking that up. I'll correct that for next year.

Well, there is nothing in the rules that says no, and if it's really your favorite video than go ahead.

Yes, the ballot at the con.

Everyone that made it in got an email. About 14 of the 30 videos are accounted for so far by people posting in this thread: http://forums.animeboston.com/showtopic.php?tid/9903/ (see page 2)
