8. Be tasteful. We cannot accept videos with nudity or overly explicit lyrics. If we can only show your video after midnight, it's not going to appear in the contest. We reserve the right to refuse your video for any reason, be it nudity...
Uhm well I have a video with nudity in it, but it's for sure presented "tastefully". Do you don't accept any sort of video with nudity in it? Or is
my video alright for the contest to be screened in the non-competing category?
I'm 99% sure the non-competing "category" for this convention is treated as an "overflow" event, but I'll take this up with my DH to make sure. Either way, so far all AMV-related events (except AMV Salad 3 which is self-proclaimed PG-13) are scheduled during general viewing hours, which means anyone of any age at the convention could wander in.
This having been said, in your case, it isn't the "tasteful" part in question. Perfect Blue is creepy on its own and your video certainly keeps in context with the theme. The reasons I have serious doubts about this being shown to general audiences are the full-frontal nudity (vague, teasing side shots are more likely to pass), the unedited song (language), and blatant violence (someone is clearly being murdered). And this was just within the first half of the video.
Basically, I wouldn't count on this video being included on any AMV play list that isn't geared for an "18+" audience. But, as I said, I'll ask my DH to look this one over to be absolutely certain. Again, it's more than likely dependent on what time of day the "non-competing" videos are being shown...
