I just wanted to say that the Cirque du Kaleido AMV made me really REALLY want to watch Kaleido Star and it was amazing! I actually am watching it now, so thank you for the awesome AMV and for introducing me to an awesome new series. ^^

But I think I have something that will get me there.

I'm determined, doggoneit...

oh, is that the rite of passage into the .org? :)

Not really a "rite of passage," but more like "I finally made it" or "broke into the big leagues." I'm not necessarily looking for notoriety per se but I'd like to ditch the feeling of being the kid trying to survive in an adult conversation...something like that. Anyway, the goal is to reach the summit. Not necessarily to win, but make the Otakon finals. AMVS3 feels like a major accomplishment after the premiere, but competition is different. Hopefully this makes any sense to y'all..?

Yeah it definitely looks interesting and refreshing, so I plan to check it out. I've been trying to get back into my anime watching groove anyway since no watchie watchie means no amv makie makie (though 3 are in queue atm). *sigh* The pressures of the real world...

wow, talk about a close race o.o and with the winner having only 22%, the others couldn't have been that far behind. another 60% split up between 4 videos?

Best of show winnnig with 10.9%..

Although that does not suporse me too much as I noticed in the past few years from the contests I run that voting is quite close and split between many videos... That must be a good thing :D (or else we are all making too many crowed pleasing videos :nono: )

I really enjoyed the contest this year, the vids were fantastic =]

I agree w/ what whispersreloaded said many replies back, I was pretty disappointed the Sunlight and Love Disconnected both didn't place at all. Those were prolly my two of my favorite vids of the contest XD

Anyways, can't wait to dl some of da vids :33

If you think about it the category has 6 videos which means each one gets 16.6666 (repeating of course) percent of the vote on average. so if you get more than 1/6 of the vote you are already above average ^^

i guess the same applies to the best in show, too... anyone who got over 3% was really a crowd pleaser!

Idk, I think my av is a pretty good representation of me IRL. And probably more talkative. :uhoh:

Anyway, [late] congrats to all the winners! :D Looks like I have some vids to dl. Wish I could have been there though. Hopefully next year. *^_^*

A big thank you to Vic, Jeff, Amanda, and all the other associated staff and volunteers (especially those who counted votes on Saturday after the contest; that must be a pretty thankless job) who made this contest come together! The AMV contest is always one of the highlights of the con for me, and this one certainly didn't disappoint. :D

It's good to know Otakon's contest still has the same perceived prestige it did six years ago. There was a time when some of us were worried it might be losing its elite status. Better perception of the contest = better videos and better viewing for everyone!

Actually, Action was the only category to have seven videos.
