Any word on when we'll get a category specific list?

I will probably release the playlist, sans video titles, a week before the con, just to keep things interesting.

OH MY GOD, I MADE IT. (Curry Mutton Pizza Productions; my username here is old haha) I LITERALLY SCREAMED AHAHAHA.
My video last year had a good concept but very amateurish execution and didn't make it... and now after becoming completely addicted to editing, it's paid off!! As well as my boyfriend's wonderful Christmas/birthday gift of good software... XD

It's such a thrill to see my name in there with some of the bigger/more established names. God this is so exciting. Congrats to everyone!!

Well, dang, I had my hopes up that I'd be the Miracle Rookie, but no such luck this year!

I'm working on another one, maybe I'll submit it next year...

Shit, thats beat. I finally submit a video after 10 years of editing, just to be shunned. Oh well, I still get to see it on the big screen and thats all I really wanted anyway...at least i HOPE I get to see it.

Nah, don't even worry about it! I got you beat, I've failed three years straight! (And this last one I entered in a category that no one else ever does, so I'm forced to assume I was the only one cut)

If nothing else, I've learned what a horrible editor I truly am. :D

If the results look...interesting...it's because I took Scintilla's advice and ran everything blind this year, which lead to some pleasantly surprising results. I see people that I don't know making the finals list, and creators that I'm familiar with, not doing so. I didn't realize just how much a name can carry an entry until this year, and I can't imagine going back to a non-blind pre-screening format after seeing this year's results.

I didn't make the cut (and I wasn't expecting to, quite frankly, given that the video I really *wanted* to enter is still not yet finished). What surprised me was that BRAD DEMOSS didn't make the cut either! Among other people I noticed that usually *do* make the cut at such high-profile contests! I'm reading the list and just going "Wow! _____ didn't make the cut??"

Regardless, I'll still have a video to show at Otakon, at Iron Editor. That's one heck of a consolation prize, if you ask me. In any event, congratulations to all the finalists!!

Took me 4 years before I finally made the cut last year. Didn't make the cut this year, but frankly, I didn't expect to. Still, keep trying!!

Make sure you try and go when you think your studio name will show up - they do it alphabetically, and last year I missed mine because my studio name starts with C, and they played it towards the beginning of the overflow. If you catch it before they play yours, I think you can request to have it played while you're there, even if it's out of order. But they wouldn't play mine again due to time constraints. :( Keep in mind also that it spans across both of the overflow showings, and the second showing is NOT a repeat, but the second half of the overflow. Hope you get to see it!
