Judges Choice Awards (JCA) results

Were there any close calls on any of the categories?

I served as tie breaker in 3 categories. A few of the other categories were very close. Most of them had a clear winner though.

Gratz and nice results. I hope you hold the contest next year too. Thank you.

Personally I'm hoping Koop is able to do it next year. Either way, I certainly want JCA to continue and will do what I can to make sure it does.

Already pushing for Most Helpful in the 2010 JCA I see. Thanks, I should have made those clickable to begin with but for some reason it just didn't occur to me.


As for the results, personally I'm fairly evenly split in agreement between VCA and JCA. There are winners on both lists that make me think 'WTF are these people thinking?' and there are winners on both lists that make me think 'Wow, I didn't expect anyone except me to make that pick'. Which is fine, the JCAs provide a different perspective on deserving videos and as we all should know no one agrees with other peoples opinions all the time. It was clear to me that the judges put thought and consideration into their choices and I can't ask for more than that. Because of that I'm happy with the results even as I disagree with some of them.

Congrats to the winners!

After the electing the judges phase there was a tie for fifth place. Rather than bias results by picking between them I decided to use six judges instead of the originally planned five.

Man, if you just had asked me (if I were one for the tie), I probably would've said "no". (at least, that is what I'm saying now )

I'm gonna kill anybody who chose me! Approx. ten hours of watching was a real hell. At least I now know I never gonna do this again. About your vid, it totally deserved the win(s)!

Great honor to have worked alongside that kind of an interesting team of judges even though everyone seems to disagree with the results quite a bit. Woulndn't have thought that considering that I love the winner list and almost every choice.

It was definately a hard time to go through all of those videos but in the end a cool experience since now I know that lots of the underdog videos were actually the most impressive ones.

I also learned that I can enjoy Chii videos when I watch them more than once, who would've thought.

tl;dr love the results and would enjoy judging again.

I feel the need to post my personal votes. As the current results as I feel don't represent my votes proper. People have to realize my votes only count for one sixth of the total votes. But I hope that this will soften some of the "боль" I've been reading about on some of the boards.
