2009 JCA voting for judges

Post by godix » Mon Mar 16, 2009 7:45 pm

This post is for voting on the judges part of the Judges Choice Awards. For information of what exactly that is please read this post announcing the contest.

DO NOT POST YOUR VOTE IN THIS THREAD.
SEND IT TO ME IN A PRIVATE MESSAGE.

It's that little button labeled PM just under my name.

Well I've heard back from those willing to judge if they're chosen so it's time to vote and actually pick the judges. At this stage we need the participation of anyone with an org account. As I mentioned in the main contest thread, there will be five judges who will view and rate the videos. Those judges are selected by you.

Here is how to vote for judges. Send me three names (in a PM), in order of preference. The first choice will be assigned 3 points, the second choice 2 points, and the third choice 1 point. At the end of voting the five nominees who have the highest points will become judges. If you read the topic earlier, this is a change I was talked into because, well, it makes sense.

Voting will end at midnight CST Weds the 19th and the judges will be notified on the morning of the 20th.

Potential judges are encouraged to promote themselves in this thread if they wish. Knowing the org, I'm sure that means some will have fun with banners which is perfectly fine. When you send me your vote (in a PM) please keep in mind that the contest will work best if you actually vote (in a PM) for who you think is capable of being a good and impartial judge.

To address a question that came up, nominees are able to vote if they wish.

And the list of nominees:
The bold/italics is just to visually break up the wall of text. It doesn't mean anything.

I'm surprised by the relatively "small" number of people who agreed for the judging. A lot of faces I was expecting are missing. Regardless it'll be interesting to see who the community will deem fit to judge for the JCA's.

Best of luck to all the other people participating in this race.

There were 77 nominees. 29 accepted. Around a 1 in 3 ratio isn't bad, especially given some of the people nominated haven't even visited the org in years.

In a PM? Yes.

In this topic? For all I care you can vote for the entire org listed in order of join date since I'm not counting votes not sent via PM.

With two AMV rooms up in jsut over 3 weeks, I would not have the time needed to dedicate to it to judge so I diclined.. but thanks to the nomination and best of luck to the judges (having a ton of time!)

There is an edit to the original post that I want to make sure people see:

Here is how to vote for judges. Send me three names (in a PM), in order of preference. The first choice will be assigned 3 points, the second choice 2 points, and the third choice 1 point. At the end of voting the five nominees who have the highest points will become judges. If you read the topic earlier, this is a change I was talked into because, well, it makes sense.

I'll make sure to notify those who already voted on the correction so there won't be any disadvantage because of that.
