Nice. Thanks!

I swear I read through the rules like 5 times, but for some reason didn't notice that one rule. :uhoh:

So if you're not unique, you can enter as many videos as you want!

All ACen staff. I find it funny that after years of basically the same 2-3 people entering staff that now we actually get questions/interest about it. I want there to be something staff related though. I just don't want it part of the contest. I think a 30-60 minute block of Staff content would be something cool programming wise we could do.

trythil wrote:If the latter, what would you do if I submitted a video under an assumed name?

This would be handled roughly in the same way the other AMV contests that don't require a photo ID, drivers license number, social security number, or some form of real identification other than a handwritten signature.

P.S. I wouldn't recommend submitting under an assumed name like Ron Mexico

trythil wrote:Also, would you like these rules up on the public website?

Basically I just want the AMV page to link the rules thread. That way we don't get people sending the same questions to the darn e-mail address instead of reading the thread where everything has probably already been answered or is in discussion.

What I do need is the PDF up on the AMV page. Before I ask any favors though I need to check off with SailorDeath what the status of that process is.

Just FYI for some folks As of a couple weeks ago I stepped down as ADH. I am now just tech. Before I retire =p

Update for FTP:

FTP Entries & Entry Form

You must be familiar and have access to a FTP program to use this submission method. Anime Central staff cannot provide teaching experience for FTP software. If you are unfamiliar with how to use FTP software you must send your entry via mail. If you choose to submit via FTP we recommend uploading a SFV file or MD5 checksum so we can verify the integrity of your upload.

To fill out the entry form for mail or contestants who wish to upload via ftp can do so with the following steps:

1. Go to http://contests.ngsilver.com and click where it says NGSilver's AMV Contest Database

2. Log in using your username and password.

• If you do no have a username and password, click on the new users sign-up link and fill out the neccessary information.
• You will also be asked to verify your e-mail address, once that has been completed you can then log in.
• Username and Password are case sensitive!

3. On the left hand side, first make sure your information is correct.

• Click on Studios to add your studio if it is not in the list.
• Click on Edit Creator Information to update your information, including contact information.

4. To submit your entry, first click on Enter New Video option from the menu.

5. Next Select Anime Central from the list of conventions.

6. You will then be prompted to submit the information for the AMV contest.

7. Once you have filled out all the information, verify that everything is correct, and check the amv contest rules again to ensure your video complies with the contest's rules.

8. Once you are finished, press the Submit button at the bottom of the page

9. After the information is submitted you may upload your entry by clicking on View Entry Status

• If you are mailing your music videos you may print out the page and mail it with your submission.

10. Select Anime Central 2009 Videos from the screen.

11. Click the Request FTP Access button at the bottom of the page.

12. You will receive the FTP account username and password within 24 hours.

• Note: you will see in the last field of the table it says file name. Copy the text, and rename your amv to that file name for faster processing.

13. After you receive the FTP information proceed to upload your AMV to the server.

• If you are familiar with creating MD5 or SFV checksums, please include this with your upload so we can verify its integrity

14. Once your AMV is uploaded, go back to the View entry status page for Anime Central 2009 Videos

15. Click on the Close FTP account at the bottom of the page.

After completing the following steps, your entry will be submitted to the AMV contest for Anime Central 2009. There are a few other items to note:

1. You will need to submit an entry form for EACH video you wish to submit.

2. You will need to submit an FTP request for EACH video you wish to upload.

3. You do NOT need to create a new user account if you are submitting multiple entries.

4. To check the status of your video log back into http://contests.ngsilver.com and select the amv you wish to view.

I'm a little confused about the entry form. If I'm submitting using the FTP site, do I also need to upload the PDF form, or does the web form replace the PDF?

The entry system replaces the PDF form that was on the ACEN website originally. So you do not need to fill out that PDF.

Also, I am the one running the FTP server. So if you have any problems with using it or the database please contact me.

I can't remember if I have an account on ngsilver's board or not. Is there any way to check? Or should I just make a new account?

Try to sign in first. If it doesn't accept that try to use the password reset function and see if that will return a result. You can also try to make an account. The system will of course yell at you if your user name is already in use. Beyond that, there really isn't exactly any check that you can do yourself. I can look at the user tables and see if your user name and email address is there, provided the ones you supply are the ones you used to sign up with.

If all else fails, just create a new account. If later we find out you have an account already both of the accounts can be merged. Just as long as you are not making multiple accounts to submit different videos to the contest.
