Finalists for Anime Expo Anime Music Video Contest 2008

Post by DigitalPanther » Mon May 26, 2008 2:49 am

Hello all,

I am pleased to announce the list of finalists for the Anime Expo Anime Music Video Contest 2008.
This past Friday night the judging convened and the finalists were picked.
There were 143 entries total that made it to judging.

We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who entered into this years contest. There were some absolutely amazing entries. This was a learning year myself and my Co-Director. There were some wrinkles to be ironed out. Those of you affected have been troopers in working with me to get your videos in in time to be judged and I would like to personally thank you all. We have learned a lot and still have a bit more to learn for next year. However, on the whole I think things have gone really smoothly thus far and we are over the hard part. It should be easier from here on out.

But enough of my rambling. You don’t care about that you want the list of finalists right?

Good stuff, glad I got in since I'll be venturing out there again. :P

With the results posted, I'd like to pose a bit of a guessing game.

What were the top three shows used in the competition?

Hint 1: #1 beat Haruhi, Lucky Star, Eva, Naruto, DBZ, Air, Kanon, and Princess Tutu, Kenshin, and Death Note COMBINED.
Hint 2: So did #2.
Hint 3: So did #3.

Results will be announced after the conclusion of the competition. Winner gets to gloat here publicly.

argh i am actually not looking forward to that, lets leave the effect heavy, psychedelic rainbow text effect, character color cut out trip, to the original creator of such an idea, Jay (Koop). But like they say, copying someone is the highest form of praise.

I guess no one really listens to PHADE anymore.

btw. congrats on ur two videos, i am waiting to see another effect heavy competition for amtvpro!

Fixed. And I don't even know if I'm right in naming AD specifically, but my point is that there's no way that kind of video was not around before Koopiskeva. :?

I'm so glad I'm in the Drama category rather than Comedy. I just saw "The Harassment of Kyon" at Fanime, and I wouldn't stand a chance!

Best of luck to to everyone, but especially everyone else in the Comedy category (you're going to need it!).
