signing up an AMV

you have to go to what ever contest i hold site and check the rules. TaranT keeps a great site that tracks most of the video contest and gives links to their pages

Keeping up with the AMV contest entries, what kind of submissions are actually appreciated by most of the organizers? It's fine and dandy to create an AMV but what's that special "spice" that makes them really look forward to showing the video? Is it mostly content, effects, story etc etc etc?
Opinions gladly accepted here.

Hey, whatever you find here, minus the bad quality and subtitles are enough most days... most professional-ish ones like mpeg2 at reasonably high bit rates as well...
