CSUN AMV Contest Finalists

Post by Ikasu » Sun Nov 10, 2002 4:20 pm

Wired Knight: Nevah!, Heh...We will not be using a applause meter since that method is so flawed. We will be using ballot voting after each category...We will also have 10-15 previews of each video to refresh peoples memory when they vote.

Phew. That was some intense judging we had. About ten and a half hours of judging....Well...Atleast it's over now and we have all the finalists set. I'm proud to say we have a awesome contest this year. It's also the first contest for CSUN Anime so I'm glad to see it's going great so far.

Now we should move onto the finalists. But before we do that I'd like to thank all the judges for the contest....TheRealNeoHentaiMaster (Tony), Castor-Troy (Ryan), Anneke (I know her name but if I say it I may not be alive tomorrow...=P), And Travis.

Also, I'd just like to say that we have chosen "Most Artistic", "Best Editing", "Best Special Effects", "Most Technical" judges awards. We will not be announcing them till the contest...but I must say, We have one video that didn't make the finals but has still won a award....

I'd also like to state that Comedy and Parody/Fun had to be merged due to the lack of videos in the comedy category...And one more thing...We are going to be recording the entire contest through a MiniDV camcorder...I personally will be editing it for organization and then make it public on my server so you can all see how the contest was run and the reactions toward each video.

Now onto the finalists!

*Note* These videos aren't in any specific order

OK, so now that we have the finalists, lets talk about the event. I am Wesley Hartman for those of you who do not know me, other Co-ordiantor and the MC(Master of Ceremonies). The doors will open at 6 and seating will start. There are 2 entrances to the place where the event is being held. The west entrance is for creators and anime club members and the east entrance is for non anime club members. This restriction is due to the fact that we only have about 175 seats. The judges, club officers and contest finalist get reserved seating so all you finalists attending, email me at whueywen@earthlink.net so I can reserve your seats. If there is anyone you want to bring, tell me so we can make arrangements but you are limit to only one extra seat next to yours
but you can invite as many people as you would like but they will have to stand in the non club member line. The finalist, officers and judges have their own entrance as well which will be discussed with the ones who are coming. The event will start at 6:30 and will last until the event ends,
hopefully before 11. We will be showing 30 finalist as well as some exhibition videos that did not quite make the finals and anyother video we thought was cool.

Now for what everyone wants to know about, the prize. The winner of each catagory will get certificates and and various anime goods. The winners of judges awards will get certificates. The best of show gets a pair of speakers that have 125 watts of power and a trophy that stand 40
inches tall.

We all gave PFS a very high score during the judging but sadly we had to DQ it... :(

Yes, Im very sorry MexicanJunior, anyone that was there will tell you that out of all the judges I pushed the hardest to get PFS in the contest, but since showing it could result in the club being shutdown, there was nothing I could do.
