AWA 11 [2005]

Postby MCWagner » Tue May 17, 2005 9:44 pm

Contest Rules are now posted at the "music videos" forum on the AWA site.

http://www.awa-con.com/phpbb/viewforum. ... 504106e508

They'll be linked on the general site pretty soon, but I just wanted to get the details out to everyone early.

NOTE: Lots of changes this year. Tech changed a lot. Read carefully.

You're welcome to reply here or there with questions, I get notification at both sites.

Two questions:

1) The vid I hope to complete in time to submit uses a widescreen aspect ratio. Would anamorphic or hard-letterboxed, non-anamorphic mpeg2 be preferable?

2) Does your playback system handle uncompressed PCM (.wav) audio, or would .mp2 audio be preferred?

I could make a guess at this, but rather than screw it up I'm directing the tech guy who's building our systems over here. He should have the answers.

Yup, we have a block set aside for them, but note that all the voting is done before the con begins.

Seriously...the first thought I had after reading that was that I should stay out of the contest just to make room for people who haven't won. Some of them have been trying for years. And it's not like I need another green coat.

Another conundrum. :?

With awa masters leaving the scene the best contest dies, very sad. And especially becaue it's the contest I always wanted to participate in the future, that was my big aim. :(
