Kunicon Atlanta AMV contest

Postby Michieru » Fri Apr 08, 2005 1:07 pm

Kunicon has changed it's rules and also the way it would present the AMV's. Cypher-Technologies a computer company would be hosting a private FTP server. You have until April 27th to submit your work. Please encode all AMV's in mpg2 quality.
I would personnelly check each file that has been submitted. If any errors are found I shall quickly report them to you. All files must be playable if not they shall not be reviewed by kunicon and your entry would be voided. If you have any other questions, comments, concerns please email me at kunicon@earthlink.net.

Also you would need to email me for an account on the server it would take for the max 12 hours to activate. Once it's activated I shall reply giving you authorization to upload your content. For FTP registration please email me at kunicon@earthlink.net.

P.S please visit http://atl.kunicon.com/?go=contests&anime&amv for a more detailed listing of rules thank you.

[UPDATE] We are accepting AMV's submissions again and our ftp server is up and running.

Frankly I am going to wait and see if you guys are going to do a contest justice before even contemplating submitting. No offense but after the disasters of the previous conventions I would like proof of change before even considering.

I'm lost. Why is the minimum frame rate for MPEG-1 23.97, but for MPEG-2 it's 29.97?
(And wouldn't encoding at 23.976 and setting the 3:2 pulldown flag work for MPEG-2s?)

I have no idea. This was decided by manny I think because we plan on burning it all to a DVD and play everything off a dvd player. Might be the software there using does not accept some other frame rates. I would see what I can do. If maybe you guys can just send me a raw source and I convert them using some quicktime tools I got here. I would get more information on this as soon as I come back from burning someone at the park who thinks he can run faster than me. So for now, CIAO! :D

Minimum framerate? No maximum?
Minimum video resolutions? No maximum?

Time to submit 60fps 1080p videos!

There's no technical reason, unless they're using a really low-end and/or crappy decoder that doesn't understand how to properly interpret the pulldown flag.
This is a block of text that can be added to posts you make. There is a 512 character limit.
