Hello everyone,
Now that we are in the final months before Anime Central 2005 kicks off, we will begin the process of selecting judges for the AMV Contest. Last year we selected 6 individuals to be judges for the AMV contest. These people consist of 3 members of the AMV community and 3 people who were not AMV creators as to help balance the selection process. Below you will find all the information you need to know if you decide to be a judge. If you wish to be a judge for the AMV contest at Anime central please respond by April 20th, 2005
All Judges:
1. You must be present at the SECOND showing of the AMV Contest. The second showing occurs on Saturday at 2pm (Time subject to change)
2. You must arrive 20 minutes before the event is to start, so that we can seat you, as well as give you the necessary ballots for voting. Please arrive on time, to delay the AMV contest is to delay every event that takes place after the contest.
3. Please be professional when judging videos. Nobody likes to hear a judge say aloud “That video was the worst I’ve ever seen” so please, if you have any comments on the videos you’re judging, keep them to yourself when in the presence of the audience. You will be taken to a private area when it is time to select the winners, save your comments for then.
4. In the event of a tie, a staff member will be brought in to cast a tie-breaker vote.
5. Remember that all Judging decisions are final. So once one is picked that’s it. If a creator approaches you and asks you why their video lost over another (and this happens every year) please direct them to me, don’t attempt to give them an answer. If a creator becomes belligerent (this has never happened before at Anime Central but there is always a first time for everything) do not hesitate to find me or another nearby Anime Central Staff Member to handle the situation.
AMV Creator Judges
1. An AMV Creator judge, simply put, is a Judge who has created an AMV at some point.
2. If you have entered the AMV contest here at Anime Central, that does not disqualify you from being a judge, however we must know what category your video has been entered into because you cannot judge videos in that category.
3. In order to keep as much balance on the voting as possible, there can only be 1 creator judge per category. Example: If a Judge has entered drama, no other judge can be entered into drama.
Non-AMV Creator Judges
1. A Non-AMV Creator Judge is one who has never created an AMV before. If you have plans to make an AMV but haven’t done it yet, you are considered a Non-AMV Creator Judge.
