Yeah, when you said you were copying it over to the DVD, I thought you were, you know, copying it to the DVD. But what you're describing now is what I would have recommended if you don't have TMPGEnc.

Anyway, good luck with your entries!

It's a drama video by the way.

I'd be shocked if the contest was strapped for entries- the last few years they've gotten around 2 times the number of videos that could be shown in the contest and had to have prescreening-type showings to whittle the entries down to the right length for the main showing. However, I suppose there is a decent chance of there being a drop in total entries due to the extra effort required in mailing the entry in vs. uploading it via FTP (and in a number of cases, already having uploaded it for another convention and just clicking a button to submit it elsewhere). I suppose it's anyone's guess as to what will happen. There's still a week left, and I know my entry won't get there until right before the deadling (something about it not being done yet- thank Kami we get Good Friday off so I have an extra day to finish it. :P)

So I'd say just go ahead and submit your video. It can't hurt.

Acen Due Date extension

Postby outlawed » Thu Mar 24, 2005 10:32 pm

By popular request!

The contest deadline has been extended to April 15. We must receive your entry and have it in our hands by then. There will be no further extensions. This deadline is firm and final no matter what.

A reminder that if you submitted using the old form it did not have an e-mail address line. Send e-mail to outlawed@pobox.com to update me. I still have about 4 entries with no e-mail addresses given. Thank you.

(How coincidental (no it is NOT ironic, you fools) that this scene is actually in the video we're preparing, despite the fact that I made this graphic last year...)

If that's true, I strongly suggest updating the AnimeCentral website/video entry page with that information. Most people would not know about that (who don't visit this forum), while others - like myself - resolved to not rush our projects and dismiss entering ACEN this year.

But .... thanks to this deadline extension ... I might actually make it! :o

how does that affect videos that would not have premiered at a con by the April 1st deadline, but will have by the new april 15th?

I know what you mean. I sent my dog out on Tuesday; apparently it got there already.

It will not affect them. That rule will hold to the original due date of April 1st.
