I am so glad I didn't send anything to AX this year... I feel sorry for all the creators that spent the money to attend this cluster %@#! AX is considered to be the biggest convention and they take in a TON of money yet they can't do what it takes to run the AMV contest properly? AX might be the biggest, but this year it sounded like they were the shittiest. Anyways, congrads to the winners...

I highly agree that the AX contest sounds like a major disappointment (considering the excellent contest last year). How about this idea for next year: for the categories, have the winners be decided by ballots rather than applause, with at least two showings of the contest (at least Friday night and Saturday morning). Then, have the category winners be announced at the cosplay contest, with the "best in show" determined by applause.

Finally, two more things:

1. Does anyone have a list of the videos in the "fun" category and the winners?

2. Does anyone knows the "Judge's categories" winners?

I do....But first off....Maboroshi...It was a waste of money...And I've been anticipating it since last year....This is bull...But about the fun category...I don't know that....But for the judges...THERE WERE NO JUDGES AWARDS.....just third party...GAY!....Third party awards went out to Troy William's "A Waste Of 6 Minutes and 35 Seconds".....I forgot the name of that award though..Then the Big Cahoonah award went to "Devotion"...

*jots down a few notes in his Anime USA AMV Contest notebook*

"check field order when capturing videos" ... check
"start contest on time" ... check
"if contest is delayed don't start at 8am because all the AMV panelists will be hungover" ... check
"arrange prizes for contest ahead of time" ... check
"don't screw over the AMV creators like AX" ... check

*closes notebook*

Anyways.... VERY dissapointing con...... Bebop Z looked too bright and was color bleeding but looked ok. They played EvilVegettoZ's Kung Fubop on accident like 3 times and after they final time they played it right, they said Tim Park (dokidoki) created it.

Troy's video was awesome at first but I personally think jescaflowne's video had ALOT more replay value....

Can't believe we rented a hotel room for this shit..

AD's Shameless Rock video played and won best Fun. I also saw TommyRude's EVA ep 27 in the fun category. Can't remember the other 2.....

it was indeed a REALLY bad contest.

after hours of waiting around in the cold...
we get seated.

i position my ass in the chair in a way so im comfortable.
knowing i'd be sitting there for years.

the highlight of the whole evening was:
"THAT IS A $15,000 SCREEN! IT'S PIERCED!"

i think i was making jokes off of that for a while.
then they cancelled it. and i cried.

8:00am the next morning...

i showed up and they played the videos.
i think of all the videos played there, my session 08 video (Chemicals)
had the most horrible quality (this is what happens when you rush things [cough]AX[cough]). but anywho...
they went through ACTION and i saw my video. my video looked
like the contrast was WAY off. the thing was so bright you couldn't even see it. also, it looked like there were a whole bunch of interlacing problems. [shrugs]. people liked my video. i was content. :D
then Castor Troy's video played. i was in shock. i think i leaned over
to my friend and said "i just got rocked". then when the voting came about..
i heard the roar for troy's video and i sat back in my seat.

maybe next year, daniel (i told myself)
and the winner is...
damned comedy videos! they always own me up
chemicals by Daniel Araudsfkasdflkajsdfjo
yeah... that'd be nice... wait. wha?! wtf?! that's not supposed to happen!
i think i looked at castor troy with a really confused look on my face.

-_-
oh well...

the drama catagory was slow. as is all drama catagorys. hehe
once again my video was messed with.
they played it and all that came out was audio and no video.
then they fixed it at the end. and it played. and in the end there was
another cheer off. between my faye video and a sakura one.
"they're still about the same" says the guy.
they gave it to the other person.

just once.. i'd like to see my faye video win drama.
maybe at the next convention.

yeah... for winning i got no prize.
wait wait...

no.. no prize.
oh well.
at least i got Aria Giovanni's signature.
Mmmm Porn Stars... 8)
