AMV contest at Animecon 2005 (the Netherlands)

Postby Paul Kievits » Mon Nov 22, 2004 1:58 pm

Hi guys,

I haven't posted in a while and one might think I forgot the AMV community all together. Nothing is less true. I'm currently gathering footage for a new AMV and am attempting to organize an AMV contest for our local dutch convention (more information about the convention can be found at www.animecon.nl).

Though I doubt there are a lot of people who could compete in the contest (presence at the convention is mandatory) I might aswell promote it anyway (I'm hoping I can atleast reach JCD :P). The rules to the contest can be found here http://www.animecon.nl/festival_event_amv.htm (yes I know they seem a little anal but I didn't have any other choice :().

If you have any questions or remarks don't hesitate to post them here, PM me, or email me at amv@animecon.nl .

I hope I can at least reach one person out there and am looking forward to your AMV's :)

woot here we go :)

You did, I'll most likely be there. Maybe I can drag some friends along, at least I'll bring some great german beer :) I'll be sure to promote this at a-m-v.de as well.

The 3 minute rule is sure bothering, but it gives me time so I can finish something more quickly and focus more on my Japan Expo entry. Besides, my friends are all such short-amv freaks :P

This will be fun

Great! I'm not sure how anal the convention staff are about food & drinks but if they whine I'll be sure to grab a pint with you outside the con area (it was awesome weather last year, lets hope for a repeat). I'm also scheduling in an AMV drink after the contest so we should be able to drink/get druk then :)

I'll be sure to promote this at a-m-v.de as well.

Cool, could you send me a link of the forum thread (if you make one)...

I know, I hate how anal are laws are. But I kind of get where the organization is coming from... I'll try to find a hole in the law for next year ;)

As you know, i'll sure be there this year, and i am already getting into the video i'll be sending in. But it's a hard choice, there are atleast 3 videos that i think can really be good to participate with (non of them have been uploaded here yet), and it's a very hard choice between them.
But you'll see what i send in, and maybe, who knows. Atleast i'm trying to improve them any way i can.
Well, see you there, and have the vodka ready

Undertow: I'm glad you're joining in this year, it should raise the level of competition quite a bit (goes for JCD aswell). I'm looking forward to your video but you still have loads of time :)

JCD: Thanks, I'll bookmark and respond to the german thread aswel...

Happy new year to all. This is a periodic check up on any possible new contestants and a check up on the status of the videos of people who are planning to enter. So if you've either of those, shoot... :p

I have got to meet you guys

Postby RutKiskasca » Sun Mar 06, 2005 9:10 am

I need to try to get to one of these european conventions and meet JCD and Undertow and the rest of you. I hope I can make it to the Netherlands for this con. How are the Germans getting there? I'm a bit lost around here, and would like to meet up with someone to travel together.

I'll drive there in my car saturday morning and get back sunday morning propably... and I have still room in there, if you want to accompy me you're welcome, Wiesbaden -> Trier shouldn't be as expensive as Wiesbaden -> Almelo for you ;)

Barely got 20 seconds of my video done, working steadily. I want it to rawk, Germans don't give Dutch guys extra chances traditionally :D j/k
