Don't correct proper grammar. The convention, Anime Expo, is a singular entity; I've never been there, referring to the convention, which is implied by the sentence. Also, "I've"
always contains a capital "I," so I don't know why you put curly brackets around it and changed it to lowercase.
By the way, when quoting someone but making alterations, you use straight brackets [] and
not curly brackets {}.
