AC3 2004 AMV Contest (Deadline soon, FTP available)

Postby dokidoki » Fri Oct 22, 2004 2:05 pm

Sorry for the late announcement (I've been a little out of touch), but AC3 is having an AMV contest. Details are here:
http://soap.ottawa-anime.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=202

Since the deadline is Oct.27th, it's probably too late to mail anything, but as the subject says, an FTP site is available.

Geh, a narrow submission margin indeed...

Hmm, I'm seeing submission/format rules, but I'm not seeing much for content rules or limits.

-Length?
-Number of submissions?

If the former isn't a huge factor, I'll submit something... if the latter isn't a huge factor, I'll submit a couple of more something's.

Anyway, if I do submit something, I'll either mail it or go drop it off in the next couple of days. I'll definitely make it to the con though...

Is there any chance I could get a heads up to see if the playback ON MY amv is ok after I submit it?

Good Luck everyone, and have a great time at AC3!

You should contact them (there's an email address in that post), but I've done it for you. You may want to do it yourself anyway. ;)
Thanks to those who've entered.

Geh, in case the coordinator may be wondering why some partial uploads may (or may not) have showed up in the FTP, my connection has been slightly bitchy today... it's going now though, I'm hoping the submissions will be done tonight.

(/wonders why I couldn't just buy a blank CD and hitch a bus ride to drop it off at the guy's house)

heh, and now you know why I went for .avi versions of my vids (imagine how long it would take to load up 3 vids in HQ MPEG-2 @ about 7.5kbps rate? :x )

I wonder why there's no heads-up on the con itself over in the Con section yet? Anyway, I'll have to kick myself if I don't attend, and it's awesome to hear you guys are entering, especially since some of you happen to be among my favorite editors :P . Looking forward to seeing your work on teh local big screen!

I like mpeg2's...
They run consitantly, Look great, and have usually next to no tech problems.

Oh well =o...

Heh, well now that I've seen your vid, I'll be on the lookout for yours. Since I suspect I know which video(s) Bakadeshi and gene are planning to submit, I'll be on the lookout for those as well...
