Hey Castor

I'm glad you got my email okay. Looking forward to this contest. Hey guys check out Yoko Kurama's Star Wars Excalibur video, you would never believe it was made entirely with Windows Movie Maker.

I think sometimes people who make vids with Windows Movie Maker get a bad rap. Its not a bad editing program and of course, its not the greatest either. But like all video editing programs, the more you learn the better off you are.

Speaking as someone who has used Windows Movie Mkaer, Ulead, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, VideoWave and Cool Edit 3-D I can tell you that there more tools you have at your disposal the only stronger of an arsenal you can have for making kick ass vids.

I want to say good luck to all. Its great to be up against you guys. I wish everyone the best of luck

Here we go yo!

I heart WMM, its the only program i've ever used... though im sure I will try Adobe some day. The way I see it is if you can manipulate the clips well enough with the right timing and such, then you dont need big 3D effects or enhanced editing tools to get the emotion across. Just my opinion though...

Cant wait for judging to start, and thanks for putting this whole thing together Castor, you is da man!

I know what you mean MetalGear. I saw your vid and said "wow, he did this with moviemaker." I have said for years its not what you use to make the video, its who is making the video. Sure, you can use a variety of programs but unless you have a clear direction that vid is not going to amount to anything. I feel that vid creators who do use moviemaker do get a bad rap or are classified as "beginners." When actually they have more sense of direction then some people who use Adobe or Ulead.

So I always say its not what you use, its who is making the vid.

Thanx for the Compliments. I just want to say to u guys good luck with the tourny. And the best of Luck to u all. Also Remember me I'm the Yokou with the u at the end. I'm sick of havin the same name as everyone else. Thats Why I'm changing my name to Yoko Seishirou, The Seishirou is after my favorite character in X and Tokyo Babylon. This is gonna be a Damn Good tourny. Facing Other vid makers that Mastered Windows movie maker.

And I aggree full heartly with Jen about the fact we are sterotyped by people who have adobe premier or what ever. Saying "That lyps sinc on windows media player is just horrible. We are more than just that. Sure we don't have the fancy effects But still WE use windows movie maker to it's fullest. and thats what makes us Stronger than them. :)

I'll Catch u guys later. I'm going to enjoy this.

Sadly, I didn't get any entries while I was away and I will not be having a deadline extension.

I have talked to the judges and they want to start the judging this saturday. The contest will be outputted from my computer's video out card to my big TV in my living room.

I'm very impressed with alot of the entires. I can't even believe that they were done in WMM but everyone's screencaps are enough to prove it.

We're all looking forward to the great show! Good luck to everyone! :)

Only if you win, you can do what you want with the prize.

Dont' get me wrong guys. I agree that the combination of Adobe and AE are the shiznet for making vids. This I will not debate but I agree with Castor and Yoko that really fantastic vids can be made with wmm.

Its just a matter of learning the program and evolving with it. Last year Yoko made AMV Making for Dummies and did it with my studio J&P Productions and also Lesser Known Heros Productions and one of the things we stressed is that when you take the time to learn the program, any program for editing, you can produce truly fantastic works of art that no one has ever seen before.

In fact with Windows MovieMaker you can create a whole new array of effects that no one has ever seen before and thats because you can program the code in Xhtml and then with Visual C+++ create a plugin for moviemaker that has a really wild effect. Its very cool.

I also agree that the Pixelan Software Transition & Effects pack is the best thing since sliced bread to hit Windows MovieMaker. I love it. It was one of my favorite things I have bought.

And as I have watched a lot of these vids I've seen vid creators that are not beginners for using windows moviemaker but vid creators who know their product and use it well.

That's true of any video editing program.
