It is with great pleasure that I can finally tell you about the biggest change to the Anime Central Music Video Contest that we had to keep secret until now….
ANIME CENTRAL HAS ITS OWN DEDICATED AMV ROOM!
That’s right we’re busy working up all kinds of events to have running in the room, which will be operating 24 hours a day, during the entire convention.
There were some changes I couldn’t comment on before, because we were still working on getting the room, so now I will bring these issues up.
There will be no showing for the amv contest in Main Programming except during the awards ceremony on Sunday. Instead we will have multiple showings of the amv contest in the dedicated room which has a capacity of approximately 300 to 350 people. Multiple showings will allow us to accommodate a larger group of people. The amv contest has occurred around 9am on Saturday in live programming because that was the only day we could get in the past and really wasn’t a good time. Now we will have the showings later in the day and at better times. The contest itself will run around 3 hours so we still have a time limit to show all videos. However, if we have to cut videos due to time constraints there will be separate showings for the cut videos, so your videos will still be seen by the attendee’s at the convention. We will have at least 3 showings of the contest but are hoping to fit in 4.
In addition to this, the amv staff here at anime central are busy working on other events that we will be running in addition to the contest. We will have workshop panels, creator interviews, themed hour long blocks and a DDR dance just to name a few of the things we have planned..
This is the biggest change to the amv contest since it was first introduced to Anime Central in 1999 and I hope you all show up and have some fun!
