Online Contests: Best to be held in winter!

Post by SephirothJenova » Tue Aug 12, 2003 10:44 pm

I just thought of this, but I think that most creators have figured this out. Summer is very big for anime conventions with AMV contests held at those conventions, but winter should be reserved for online contests. Summer is a time where people can go to conventions and such, but since winter whether may have snow, flight delays, etc., it's best that online contests take over. People can still have their AMVs shown (maybe with a big screen TV and some announcements about the showings) in larger cities, but travel by flight is basically out of the questions.

Basically:

Winter = Online Contests are more popular
Summer = Conventions much more popular

(Marytr Productions, maybe this is why you didn't get that many entries?)

Mindwarp always runs it's main contest in the Winter, due to these exact reasons.
