B5 AWA Challenge (Non Anime, but Music Video Related)

Postby Quu » Mon Aug 04, 2003 10:23 am

At AWA every year there is a set of personal awards that are given out...
The AMV guests that we invite, and the senior VAT staff get to give out personal awards...

After reading something... I have dcided to throw down a gaunlet so to speak

the VAT at awa is called the Video Art Track... not the Anime Music Video Track for a reason... it accepts all video art... even non anime...

My personal award will go to the best Babylon 5 music video submitted... (if any are submitted)

I would recomend entering it into the Expo contest... since there is a practically unlimited submission polocy for expo... you can enter up to 2 hours of videos to expo... so by making a B5 video you won't be knocking out one of your regularly made ones

How about Dark City instead ? j/k :D
I was working a concept for that one last night.

But Babylon 5...hmmm...at least I have all the DVDs. And the season 3 box is due out in a week or two. That's when things really got interesting.

Problem is the music. Maybe some psy-trance. Or maybe something by Tangerine Dream (the B5 OST composer, Chris Franke, is ex-TaDream). Have to think about this.... :?

you could enter a dark city amv to expo....

you can enter any video art to expo using any live action series you wanted... this was a personal challenge from me...

I get to give out one award... so this will be it

After I finish my current AMV for the Masters contest *crosses fingers* I plan on making a Live Action vid, though it wont be Babylon 5 due to lack of source footage. Though it was my favorite show back in the day and wouldn't mind making one.

Ha Ha! I just so happen to have two Babylon 5 music videos!

Mind you I did then quite a few years ago and used the TV source footage (Back then there was no TV bug as well in the corner)... Hmmm They might be old, but I just might send one of them in anyway!

Please tell me that they are as good/funny as "Those Poor Guys In Red". I saw that at AWA last year, and it stays in heavy rotation on my playlist.

The third season box set is not due out until next week, but DVD Planet has it already ($70).

And for those who don't want to pay for a box set, there is a single DVD ($15) that has two of the B5 movies: the series pilot and the one that covers the earth-Mimbari war.

I think I've narrowed it down to a song and a general concept. I haven't listened to this much Celtic and Irish harp music in a long time :? . Still, there's not much time left; don't know if I'll make it. I still need to polish my Expo AMV (about 95% done).

And I would very much like to see them, as well as any other B5 videos anyone else makes. I LOVE B5!

Well, just putting the finishing touches on my B5 remake video.. It turned out so much better than I thought and is probably my best action video I've done in the last few years... After AWA, I'll look at putting in on my site...

I mailed in a serious B5 drama video, so at least we're not in the same category. It's not the Celtic music I was looking for, but something better, something so quiet it might not play well in a theater. :?

And I just finished a commercial for "Babylon 6" which I'll try to upload tomorrow.

There is really only one "catagory" per say for live action... There really isn't an official catgory in the contest as far as I know...

I JUST finished the final touches on my video and will upload tonight... geeezzz, I thought this video would be then end of me in the total time it took to make....
