Postby Zarxrax » Fri Jul 26, 2002 8:07 pm

I sent request for an ftp account to upload my videos to a few days ago, and I still havent heard anything back. How has this went for everyone else? Do you think i should make the request again?

I mailed mine so it doesn't make a difference for me. Who did you e-mail specifically? It might be best if you just Message Quu on the board who will get back to you fairly quickly or be able to contact the guy you need.

Yes I applied for an AWA ftp account like a week ago. It took like four days. Don't worry, as long as you have all other preperations set you should be fine, they won't forget about you or anything :D

Machine - Did you think I didn't read the rules and methods of sending the videos?! I read them about 4 months ago. Basically I decided to just send them. 8) I knew about it, just wanted to add to the joke! That's if SpPanda was joking...

SpPanda - You were joking right!?

Paperskunk - Double Postage!!!

It's on there somewhere, you can submit them via their FTP site through prior arrangement. I chose to mail them, just easier, besides I had to mail the three VHS tapes anyway.

just out of curiousity, are there any cons that give back your submitted tapes? and what the hell do they do with the tapes anyways?

Some cons require a S.A.S.E (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope) which is to be included along with your entry. Reading the rules on the cons in question is really good to find out if it's possible or not. 8) As for the ones that keep the entries, they become property of the con itself. They might use the footage for promotional purposes. It's different depending on which con you enter. Reading through contest rules will be a good thing to do. 8)

Quu is handling the FTP server, and he was at Otakon this past weekend. I'm guessing this interfered with his ability to deal with the upload requests. :-)
