Abunai! 2024 International and 18+ AMV Competition (LOOKING FOR ENTRIES!)

Hi everyone! It’s that time again, we’re looking for entries for both the International and the 18+ AMV Competition!

For the International AMV Competition: you can enter 3 AMVs in the following categories:
- Action/Adventure; Exciting, adventurous and energy filled.
- Comedy/Parody; Funny, amusing and quirky.
- Conceptual; Artistic concepts, creative ideas or aesthetically pleasing visuals.
- Drama/Romance; Give us all the feels, sadness, happiness and anything in between
- Upbeat/Fun; Makes you smile, get up and dance, good vibes all the way!

All submitted AMVs must have been finished or premiered after the 11th of June 2023

The submission deadline for the International AMV Competition is Sunday, the 16th of June 2024 at 23:59:59 (GMT+1).





For the 18+ AMV Competition: you can enter 1 AMV, be aware
 that your source usage does need to be in accordance with the Dutch law. We have updated our rules after receiving feedback so be sure to read those before sending your entry!

All submitted AMVs must have been finished or premiered after the 11th of June 2021

The submission deadline for the 18+ AMV Competition is Sunday, the 28th of July 2024 at 23:59:59 (GMT+1).



Here is a small overview of the rules that apply to both competitions!:
- The maximum length is five minutes (excluding into/outro).
- Collabs and MEPs are allowed!
- Title bumper/credits are not allowed. If you submit an AMV with a title bumper or credits we will request you submit a clean version. A title card will be added by us for the convention.

Big question: does a video that have a lot of swearing in it count for the regular contest or the 18+ Contest?

Hi Kagacie here, co-host for the competitions.

First of all thank you for the question! Currently we do not have a hard rule set in regards to swearing, as we do not wish to limit editors too much in what they can submit to the contest. In many cases it depends on the context, amount and the actual swearwords that are used. currently this is something looked at on a case by case basis but we are internally discussing about how to handle videos of this type and may update the rules accordingly.

In regards to the 18+ competition this year we have updated are rules for the competition and as this is only our 3rd edition for this competition we are still in the process of setting the appropriate boundaries as to what is and is not qualified as 18+. This is something we will be taking more into account and may still be updated in this years ruling!
