Edit again: got the fixed version, it plays fine.
As of about 7:00 P.M. EDT on Wednesday, 4/29, all videos that have been uploaded are checked and properly playable, with the exception of two that I had to reject for watermarks some days ago (you know who you are).

Never before have I been so relieved to say...

TIME'S UP!

All videos received have been checked, except for the most recent one (textless - you know who you are), which I am pulling down now and will check in the morning. I am also in the middle of downloading the rather multicultural video that was FTPed.

All in all, we had 93 87 (I forgot to remove some duplicates) contestants entering what is easily a record number of videos (at least in the four years now I've been running this contest). Clearly I will need to seriously consider enacting a one-video-per-contestant limit for next year... that, or get a house with a guest room.

Argh -- you're definitely listed in the database, but I can't find a confirmation e-mail for you. I just forced it to send one manually, so check your e-mail.

The numbers are in, but I will not be posting the finalists list until the play order is set and I've received confirmation for one re-categorization I want to make. This might just be the most frustrating categorization and play order job I've ever had to do:

• Having only 29 finalists (we had some long videos, okay?) makes categorization more difficult.
• Only TWO trailers made finals, so I couldn't give them their own category.
• Four comedies, and two of them have the same song! Obviously can't put those back-to-back...
• ...and one of them is five minutes long -- no matter how funny it is, I hesitate to caboose any contest with a five-minute-long video. I've seen it go horribly wrong before.
