I didn't check out the rules (they appear not to be on the website anymore), but there are some videos on this list that I wouldn't have considered NSFW... perhaps a bit ecchi but not anything that would require 18+. So now I'm curious, what were the content guidelines?

All of the videos followed the guidelines. The rules had to be re-worded a bit this year. But the way they were worded all the videos that made it passed. Next year's rules will be more straight forward with how it's worded. It's just due to a snafu from last year words had to be either changed or removed entirely.

Pretty much anything not suitable for the main contest... none of my AMVs that were in the NSFW contest had anything that went beyond an R. I laugh at what is considered PG-13 now at contests to be honest...

Well to be honest our main contest was actually PG this year due to another snafu from last year that almost got the entire department fired due to one person's negligence. But we are trying to get that changed back to PG-13 for next year so the NSFW contest won't have to accept PG-13 content again.
