General Rules

Video must be a minimum length one (1) minute and thirty (30) seconds and no longer than five (5) minutes.

A maximum of three (3) video entries will be accepted from one individual or a group. Each video must have a separate entry form.

Videos must use at least 50% of anime content. Videos can include other animation. If you have any questions on this, email the Video Coordinator.

Videos must use at least 70% of external music or songs (i.e., not part of the original audio track of the video source) with the exception of trailers that may be a combination of external dialogue and music.

Since AkaiCon is family friendly, the videos will be shown to a public audience at the event, all videos must be the equivalent of either G (General) PG (Parental Guidance). Thus, videos should not portray explicit nudity and/or excessive graphic violence or foul language. Any video that does not meet these requirements will be disqualified.

Videos must NOT contain credits, bumpers or AMV studio logos.

Previously released videos (as shown publicly at conventions, clubs and contests or for download on the internet) must have been premiered after July 30, 2013 to qualify.

By submitting a completed entry form or replying to the confirmation email you allow AkaiCon the right to use any entry you submit for display and/or promotional purposes.

All decisions or ramifications of any of the contest rules as made at the discretion of the Video Coordinator are final. All judging methods and decisions are final.

AkaiCon reserves the right to update or make changes to these rules at any time. By submitting to the contest you agree to abide by all the rules as stated.


Video Restrictions

All videos are required to be in at least a resolution of 640 x 480. Audio must be mp3.

Please try to limit your file less than 1GB.

No entries will be accepted at the convention.

All entries must meet all the general and submission rules as stated above. Entries must be received by JULY 24, 2015.

Anyone may submit AMVs but you must be present or a voucher to receive an award.

Can we send all three AMVs in one category?

Also, when the rule says video can't be "longer than" 5 minutes, does that mean I can submit a video upto 5:30 minutes? But not till it reaches 6 minutes, right?

I am so glad that those who went had fun! That makes me very pleased! This is my second year being Head of a department. It's been interesting!

I really enjoyed the submissions this past year. Super excited for this coming year!
