AWA 2014 Rules The Video Art Track at Anime Weekend Atlanta

The official rules for The Video Art Track at Anime Weekend Atlanta 2014 have been posted.

Changes from Prior Years

• This is not a Masters year.
• All deadlines are significantly earlier than prior years, please take note!
• You must use our web site to submit videos. Third party download sites and direct links are no longer accepted.

I should also note that I have clarified the nature of the "blind" in The Professional Awards.

• Bumpers are still not allowed.
• In-video identification is still not allowed.

Thus you can be "as blind as you want to be". If you don't want to know who made which videos, I suggest you stay off the message boards and just watch the videos and cast your votes. If you don't want people to know which video is yours, be careful who you demo it with, and keep your mouth shut until after voting. If you want to scream from the roof of Meison Ikkoku that video #27 is yours, I won't stop you, but it better not be in the video itself.

The Professional Awards does still require new material, just like last year.

The submissions site is closed. We're trying to come up with something better. We will keep you posted. All submissions MUST come through our submissions site this year.

With how low the quality (& quantity) of entries for Pro have been lately, especially considering we aren't changing to non-exclusive, I really don't understand the huge push of the deadline so early. With Otakon just before it, as well as other stuff, I really can't see myself making something now (or something actually with effort put into it). I can easily see this being Pro's weakest year if this stays the same.

I am sorry, the post here was confusing, and the main rules page incorrect. The Professional Awards will again require that all entries be new content exclusive to Anime Weekend Atlanta. I'm sorry for the confusion.
