The Rules wrote:The preferred format for AMV submissions is Xvid, but MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and Divx can also be accepted at your own risk. You may use any codec you wish, however your submission must have a file extension of “.mp4”.
Isn't this rather contradictory on two counts:
  • If MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 are accepted, then why does the file extension have to be .MP4?
  • Are we limited to XviD/MPEG-1/MPEG-2/DivX, or may we use any codec we wish?
Reading that rule made me die a little on the inside...coordinators should know better than to recommend such awful formats...thankfully they will accept "MP4s" so we can submit h264, lol...

This rule is pretty f**king stupid too...
The Rules wrote:All videos must have a 3 second “slate” that has your full name, your username, your e-mail address, the name of your submission (if it has one) and the category(ies) that you are submitting it to IN WHITE TEXT ON A SOLID BLACK BACKGROUND.
I really hate it when conventions pick coordinators that create unnecessary rules which makes it a pain in the ass for us to submit...

Congrats to the winners but it is odd to have 2 videos in a very similar style both getting an honorable mentions... Animu Stew and Rejected AMV's. I have seen both and Scott's Rejected AMV's imho is far more superior. I have also heard from various creators that the jokes in Stew are not original / been done before...

I would also recommend next year have a anti-troll rule so you have newer stuff in the contest. I run MTAC in Nashville and this year if the video has won more than 10 awards (I am considering 6) I won't accept it. People can make new stuff and limiting videos that have won less than 10 awards won't really reduce the field by a ton.

All prizes and trophies are going out this week. Sorry for the delay.

US winners should see them by the end of the week and international winners will get them in 2-3 weeks.
