Last year's Animefest was our biggest ever - we grew by leaps and bounds! And the AMV contest's attendance matched that growth. With that in mind, I'm happy to be able to announce the Animefest 2014 AMV contest is open for submissions!

I got asked a question that it feels like I get every year, so I thought I should answer it in public here as well. You may submit video that has footage other than anime. Video game AMVs (like Final Fantasy) and cartoon AMVs (like Avatar and My Little Pony) have done very well in our contest in the past.

With a bit more than two weeks left until the contest deadline, we are still seeking entries, especially in the Comedy category and the Action category (which, in our contest, is traditionally the home of Upbeat and Dance videos as well).
We do take submissions in the form of a link to your animemusicvideo.org page for your video, so long as I can get the video from that page!

I would like to publicly thank all of the editors who entered the contest - we had a ton of great videos this year. The Animefest Anime Music Video contest was featured in the main events hall this year, using the same sound and video set up that we used for the concert the night before. It was a venue that the videos deserved.
