Depending on the volume of entries in each category and time allotted for the event categories may or may not be separated into different prize categories.
Technical Standards
We have an array of video codecs and as such won’t have a problem playing most content, however there are exceptions (Please see What we Reject). As for our preferences on the files you send our way, please read the What we Prefer section.
What we Prefer
- -Mp4 or Mov files encoded in either .h264 or MPEG2 format.
-200MB maximum.
-Progressive/Non-Interlaced video.
Preferred Resolutions
We would prefer that you edit your content in the exact same resolution as your source which is likely one of the following.
- -640×480 (4:3, Square Pixel)
-848×480 (16:9, Square Pixel)
-960×720 (4:3, Square Pixel)
-1280×720 (16:9, Square Pixel)
-720×480 (4:3, 0.9:1 Pixel Aspect Ratio)
-720×480 (16:9, 1.21:1 Pixel Aspect Ratio)
What we Reject
- -Any un-rendered files (WMM, .IMOVIEPROJECT, etc)
-FLV, MKV, OGM, SWF, or 3GP files.
-No video hosting links such as Youtube, Vimeo, etc.
-Video resolution less than 640×360 (16:9) or 640×480 (4:3).
-Poor audio quality.
-Anything that requires an unusual amount of difficulty to work with.
Submission Rules
- -You may only submit up to 3 AMV’s for the contest.
-All entries are to be sent to amv@bluegrassotaku.org
-You must either have the file attached to your email, or supply a link for us download it. (Mediafire, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc)
-The email should have your Name, your Alias, The title of your video, and the category you will be entering that video in.
-Title your video as “Title of video_Name of creator_Date created”
All entries will be pre-screened by staff before being allowed into the competition in order to avoid inappropriate content being screened at the showing. If you have any questions please email amv@bluegrassotaku.org and we will respond as soon as we can.
