I work in Hollywood (the city, and the industry). And yes, it's fscking stressful sometimes, especially the driving... and the drama. :S
I just got off a stint of sixteen 12hr days. And no, I didn't get paid extra for it.

that was back in 2000... I remember that night, the room was freezing and I was shivering for to 7 hours it took to watch everything

And that's why there's a 1hr panel in the AMV Room this year called "What's Wrong with my AMV?!" Several AMV coordinators will be on that panel giving an overview of what not to do when you enter an AMV competition, as well as the tech landmines that're most likely to get an otherwise excellent vid DQ'd.
