The rules have been simplified and the cash prizes has been significantly upped to encourage as many entries as possible.

San Japan 2012 Simplified AMV Contest:

1) Up to 25 of the BEST selected AMVs will be shown. Selection will be made by the San Japan Staff. Entries will be decided between the following categories: Action, General/Drama and Comedy. Single & Multi-Edit entries are allowed.

2) All footage is allowed but anime material is highly preferred. Video Game CG and non-anime footage will be docked.

3) Top entry of each category will get $50 US Dollars + Trophy. Top selected winner will get $150 US Dollars + Eloquent Trophy. If winner is outside of the USA then they will get a wire transfer via Western Union or Paypal.

4) Entries made between Fall 2011 up to Summer 2012 will be highly preferred. Previous entries to a prior San Japan AMV Contest will not be accepted.

Rules:

1) AMV entry must be made and created by you alone or AMV Studio Group. Using any other AMV entry and claiming as your own will be be grounds to be banned from all future contests.

2) All Submissions must have credits at the beginning or end of the AMV. It must have the Editor name/Group name, Song Title, Band/Artist and the Anime Source(s).

3) 5 Minutes/300 Seconds max on all AMV Entries. This is a Hard Limit including credits.

4) No hard subtitles or watermarks allowed. No ifs-ands-or-buts. DVD or HD sources ONLY. Added subs is allowed if necessary for the AMV entry.

5) Submissions must be at least 640×480 resolution. 1280×960 or higher preferred. All video types are accepted but any low quality video files will be instantly disqualified.

6) No YouTube/DailyMotion or any other streaming video submission. San Japan will only accept the actual video file.

Please keep it at a reasonable limit is requested (less than 5). Also, newer AMVs will take higher precedence.
