So Vic, I know you are busy as hell on this, the last day of the deadline, but will I receive a confirmation e-mail? I submitted my form, got the response for that, and then I submitted my Video via FTP. I am a bit worried that it wasn't received. If there is anything wrong with it, will I be allowed to change say, its video settings, and resubmit it without it being DQed for late penalty?

Currently uploading my video and praying to every god I know, (Haruhi, Madoka, Holo, Belldandy, Deus Ex Machina, Alastor, Mayu, Keima Katsuragi) that it doesn't have any problems. The leason I have learned from all this though is to never wait till the very last second ever again!!!!!

I had planned on uploading much earlier today, but I couldn't figure out the 16X9 MPEG2 thing.

Per the rules found here:
We will email you once your entry AND your submission form have been received and tested. Keep in mind, if your entry arrives close to the deadline, it might be a week or two before you hear from us.

I'm rendering and uploading now. I'm submitting more than one file type just in case one can't be displayed properly or something. One in mpeg2 like requested, and the second one after being run through Zarx264. *crosses fingers*

making it 16X9 was no problem for me but the dam MPEG2 just wouldn't work with me so I eventually had to give up on that and just submit a MPEG4. What the huge difference is between 2 and 4 I may never know but my computer defiantly knows it.

P.S. The praying to the gods worked and my video is uploaded, good night everybody and I hope to see most of you at Otakon. :)

I will wait till the last second, every time, all the time.
With that in mind, I do hope that I can get in this year.

I guess I already knew that... I just panic when I submit things really close to the deadline.

You could always log on to the FTP and download your video through the client, then view it to make sure it's intact. Of course, that won't account for codecs and the like but it should at least take some of the anxiety out of it. (disclaimer: When I log on to the server my video is visible and downloadable, so...)

No, you can say "ass" on network television, so your donkeys can remain uncensored :)

You get a confirmation when the video is TESTED and matched to a submission form. If you upload your entry and see it on the FTP server, then it is there. No real reason to re-download it, especially since I cap my upload speeds to 8KB/user. In the last 12 hours alone, I had 47 new videos come in, and even without people doing "download tests" I'm sure that my network was performing less than adequately ^^

If there is anything wrong, you will have a very small window of time to fix it, but it will be given.

When you say very small do you mean something like 1 or 2 days, or something like a couple of hours. I need to know how frequently to check my e-mail now.
