Hey, I've got a question. I'm using a minor amount of My Little Pony footage for a sort of a "shock value". I'd rather not list it officially (since it'd ruin the surprise). Is it okay if I just leave it off the submission form? Officially... there is 5 seconds of footage. The rest is basically purely the anime material.

Also, I *think* I encoded the video correctly, but it looks like crap and is big. Can I submit both a 1080p H264 version and a MPEG2 version? Both are about 100MB, but the MPEG2 version has artifacts all over it.

A shame too, given how the seiyuus of Natsu and Lucy have been annouced as guest for Otakon this year.

This is fine. Listing that would be like listing "Rick Astley" as a video source. Kind of ruins it.

Send the version that looks right. I can't make bad look good. I can make good look "right".

Grumble grumble grumble grumble. 415Kbps upload speed - looks like a lot of people are going down to the wire on this one. But hopefully I will be making my biannual appearance in the contest this year! :)

Quick question regarding the legal side of the contest. In my trailer, there is a section where the voiceover says "from the director of ____________". If I have these words on the screen but intentionally alter the spelling of part of the title, will that avoid any issues with the lawyers (logically it should be the same as everyone mocking the MPAA name)?

Yes, this should be fine. You could also do a title slate that says something to the effect of:

(not really)
From the Director of:
