I'm going to miss it again this year as well, this time for Anime Parliament™ and the fan parodies...

I remember when the Otakon AMV panel was always on Saturday morning-to-noonish, and it seemed like most people were able to make that without many problems. Have you considered time slots like that before nighttime?

So I have seen a small snapshot of the ballot, anyone have the full one? Even an image would be nice.

I still dont know what the heck I just watched with number 28, but my favorite of the show was number 13. Hate when different years are flooded with a single anime, be it EVA, DBZ, Soul Eater, Cowboy Bebop, this year was Puella Magi Madoka Magica, not to put the particular AMV's down just it over saturates the contest in my opinion.

AMVs to me are a way to find out about new anime/manga go wow that looks interesting I should check that out. To others these are a child of love to represent a anime that they really enjoyed.

This year's Drama / Action / Romance categories were amazing. Great job to all the qualifiers, especially in those three categories. Although... it really sucks that three of the videos in Drama were Madoka (two of which were instrumental! o.O). I sorta felt like if those AMVs were shown individually, they probably would have gotten the attention they deserved. Its just hard to stand out when there are more Madoka References than there were categories. Especially when the series is only 13 episodes... not much room to make unique scene choices.

The surprise hit this year IMO was Cardcaptor Sakura. Three references to her... with all three references winning some sort of award. (Matchmaker, Fanserviceables, and Starcraft). Its just like what was said in Iron Editor this year :-p Even the oldest of animes can be seen in a new light... years after they are made.

Thats one of the reasons why I wanted to enter something else besides my Madoka- Caged video. Had a feeling there was going to be some madoka..D: Wanted to finish my new Fairy Tail video, but was to lazy. =p
Glad I made it to the finals though. :3
Next year I'm going to try for upbeat again like last year most likely.

wait The Ballad of a Dog won and not Magic eye? o-o
Well it was a neat video too. Grats to the winners!
