AnimeUSA 2011 AMV Thread (FINALISTS)

Post by VicBond007 » Sat Sep 17, 2011 7:21 pm

Hi all, the finalists are in. I'll only be listing the studio names, but people are allowed to discuss their videos if they want. If you sent in two videos and see your name listed, but it doesn't say (2 entries) next to it, that means that only 1 video made finals.

WHEN CAN I SEE THIS AWESOMENESS?
All AMV related events this year are in our newly expanded AMV Theater.

- Entries did NOT make finals will be shown from 2:30pm-4:00pm on Friday. We will show ALL of the non-finalists at this time.
- The AMV Contest will be shown from 9:00pm - 11:00pm (seating at 8:30pm) on Friday, and 12:00 noon - 2:00pm (seating at 11:30am) Saturday. While we have reserved seating times, we are NOT planning on doing room clears at all over the entire weekend (we don't really have the hall-space for it) so basically it's "hand-out-ballot-time". We also have 30 minutes reserved after each screening to give people a chance to clear out/turn in ballots. So, don't be scared when you see a 3-hour block for the AMV contest on the schedule. It is only a 2-hour contest.
- AMV Contest winners will be announced from 7:00pm - 8:30pm Saturday.
- We'll be playing almost all of the entries from 10:00am - 1:00pm on Sunday. AMV Contest finalists will be shown from 11:00-1:00, and the first hour will be for as many non-finalists as we can fit. This will be an encore showing, so if you attended the Friday non-finalists screening, as well as one of the AMV Contest screenings, there is nothing new here.

All the editors get beer? Pizza? Women? What kind of contest is this?

I'm pre-emptively claiming those three, but winners do get DVDs and stuff. No trophies for this one. I pay for the whole room pretty much entirely out of pocket, so ya'll are lucky to get ballots to vote on, let alone sweet winnings ;)

Two entries. Do they have to be in different categories?

No, but if they both get in, you're competing against yourself :o

Though 2009 does show that you can do that and still win. :P

How're we looking on submissions? Do I smell a possible extension? Or do I just need to take my trash out?

I can't do an extension because I have a wedding to go to next weekend and will be unavailable to tech support last-minute-FTP-hell. We are pretty low on submissions though so send me your new, your old, your tired, your trolled...etc.
