With the way best in show voting works at AB it was much much less about "everybody likes FMA" and way more about "no other video in the category appealed to the audience nearly as much." I saw the numbers, and it was a 4:1 margin of victory.

I must say I was a bit surprised at the choice of video that won in Romance as well, but I'm not going to complain about it. It was a good video regardless, as much as I can't stand to listen to artists like Ke$ha.

I was just glad to hear my work was deemed good enough to be shown as a finalist, if nothing else.

I would have liked to have seen the ballot numbers, just to see how many (or few) people actually liked what I had done. :uhoh:

Why does everyone think I'm a guy?! *Head-desk* Honestly, what self-respecting guy would name himself Songbird? Lol.

I've never heard the rest of her songs. Are they super raunchy or something?

Me too. It's fun to see the numbers. :)

Songbird... A friend of mine was sitting near you when the winners were announced and she said it was really funny to see you get all excited and bouncing in your seat. Congrats on the win.

I must say that I was greatly anticipating your vid b/c of the song and footage choices, being a big FMA and 30 Seconds to Mars fan, but I don't feel your win was because of those choices. If I like a series or song, I tend to be more critical of an editor 'ruining' it and you definitely didn't. I loved your vid and it did great justice to both the song and anime.

My apologies, I will correct it now. To my defense, one of my best friends, when it comes to online gaming, he goes by the name Betty, so...yeah. :ying:

*edit* For some reason I can't edit that post, I think due to the mod editing it, it's no longer available as an option...so I suppose said apology must suffice.

*scratches head* Well, I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not that I've been procrastinating on posting in this thread. I was going to throw my 2¢ into the mix; but now that posts are suddenly being edited, I guess I'll just bite my tongue.

On a different note, I'm thrilled about winning; but perhaps a bit irritated too (about not actually being there). I'd been planning to go this year since January and then about a week before the con I get a call from my two friends, that I was planning to go with, that they were no longer going because they just realized AB was on Easter weekend (and so went my place to crash Saturday night).

Oh no....more people to tease me about my squee fest. Lol.

Thank you very much. I really appreciate it :)

Aw man, I wish you'd been there. :) I love your submissions to my con, I'd've liked to have met you!

Don't worry, you'll get to meet me; I'm going to Connecticon for sure. After being the cause of why I didn't make it to AB or Bakaretsucon, I've given my two friends the proverbial kick in the ass and have booked a hotel room for Connecticon.

Wait until you see what I submit this year. I'll probably be submitting entries tonight actually.

I would have liked to have gone to Anime Boston as well, but it's timing is just not good for me.

I'd like to go Anime Boston, except I can't afford to spend a full 3-4 months salary on such a venture. Not to mention the sheer hell to get a visa to come visit. >_>

A shame so many of you haven't been there. The con is great, been going every year since 2005, and it just gets better and better. Hopefully you guys and girls get to go some upcoming year.

I've only been to Katsucon in 2006 and Animazement last year (going again this year). I have always wanted to go to Otakon, Anime Boston, and Anime Expo. Going to Otakon this year, hopefully I can eventually make it to the other two sometime.
